A great experience.

Fantastic location right in the heart of the Adelaide CBD, making it easy to walk to Rundle Mall,. The staff were incredibly welcoming and the bed was very comfortable. Great value for a city location. A special mention to Rogina and Jay - what a great service they provided- friendly, experienced and do very professional. A real credit to the hotel.

Disappointing stay at Grand Chancellor Adelaide

If you are thinking about staying here read on.Although it has a great location, good cafes,restaurants and bars nearby. The reception staff were very good but.....Housekeeping is shocking handbasin was dirty with a unknown hair in it, toothpaste left on the basin,Body wash watered down, bathroom rubbish not emptied after 3 days despite requests, beds were not made properly any day, linen was never changed in the 6 days we stayed. The bench still had the remains of our snacks from the day before. We politely asked reception to sort it and they said they would. Compensated with 2 breakfasts which at 8.00am we very sparse.

Great stay - great room - terrible breakfast !

Even though this hotel is quite old now it is still in good shape - rooms are large and very clean and comfortable bed. We checked in with ease and was placed on a high floor like I had requested - staff were very friendly. Everything was going well until we went down to the buffet breakfast the next morning - the buffet was terrible/ grumpy girls walking around doing nothing - most trays were empty (this should not happen at a buffet - the cook should be kept informed before the tray is empty). Customers should not be left waiting for anything to be refilled - no bacon - no eggs, no tomatoes - no pastries and no juice. Eventually the bacon was brought out - looked like it just came out of the packet - not cooked through and def put us off. I am at a loss to understand how a buffet breakfast could be of this standard at this range of hotel. I would not recommend paying for breakfast as its not worth the $$$.

This hotel provided us with all we needed. A good room on an upper floor, thoroughly serviced by the staff. The bar was friendly, and the buffet breakfast fine although there are alternatives nearby for a change. The location is very convenient for places we wanted to go to by foot, and also near to the station for the convenient free tram. While Hindley Street is not the most salubrious part of Adelaide, and certainly lively on a Saturday night, it also has the best bookshop in the city and near the lane ways with excellent restaurants. So no problem. And to have an open air swimming pool with spa is a real and welcome bonus for this summer.

excellent location, ask for higher floor room to avoid street noise . we were north facing on 10th floor which was great. Very handy to the Mall, tram etc. Many restaurants in area and good walkable location. Wonderful outdoor pool. Good room, clean and good facilities
