    A wonderful & friendly vibe

    rating30 Apr 2026

Well this was a wonderful surprise, when we arrived we were met by the very friendly safe who offered to take our bags as we had arrived early. Once getting into the room I found it very clean & spacious with a one bedroom and sofa bed unit layout. Fantastic location close to everything you need and easy access to public transport.Staff at the venue went above and beyond to help me and my needs and very kind and helpful. Very comfy beds and very clean well kept rooms would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to crash or catch up with friends.

Great place to stay for lots of reasons

    rating12 Apr 2026

We have stayed in a Central 1 bedroom apartment several times. Rooms are well equipped, clean, comfortable and in a good location with good, secure parking. Apartments are across the road from the hotel and close to amenities (cafes, supermarkets/mall, service stations and train station. Staff, including housekeeping staff, have always been friendly and helpful. Have dined in the Bistro which has a good menu and pub has a nice sports bar. Good place to stay and to catch up with family and friends when we visit Adelaide.

    Don't bother

    rating11 Mar 2026

Where to start... We arrived at the hotel with friends who had asked for the single beds to be placed together for one of the rooms. This wasn't done. The beds were very uncomfortable including flat pillows. More fitting for children, as our legs were hanging off the end. We went out to the their pub which I will say does nice food including breakfast! However, when we got back to our room that night, there were 15 baby cockroaches running around the bathroom and a big one which went under the vanity. After killing the cockroaches, more came out during the night. My single bed was right next to the door so you can imagine no sleep thinking one could crawl up the sheets. The shower was not clean, including mold on the floor. plus the shower head was not fit for anybody over 5ft 8 as you couldn't move it. Our friends and I went to reception the next morning to see if we could get another room. The receptionist was able to give my friends another room, but I had already booked another hotel for my partner and myself as I didn't trust another room to be completely clean. No apologies for us booking in another hotel which cost me nearly $700. We were given a $100 voucher which we had to use at the hotel instead of a refund.... The receptionist also stated that lots of people had occupied that room which made me feel like we were lying. However, we had plenty of evidence. Our friend's who had stayed in their new room, had to suffer from the housekeeping employees which at 7:00 am they were swearing, shouting and talking loud outside their room. Not appropriate at all. Would I book here again? Absolutely not. Peter Oliver, Guest Services / Front Office at Mawson Lakes Hotel, responded to this review Hello Plantgreen, we are most sorry that your experience at our hotel was not what you expected.I completely understand your disappointment and acknowledge that much of what you describe is well below the standards we set for our business. There are some items however that future readers should be given some clarification on. It is a shame that we were not notified the instant that you spotted the cockroaches. Staff are available 24/7 and would've been happy to give you another sleeping option there and then. We were first informed the next morning and had a new room, in a different building, arranged for your friends within an hour. Unfortunately, you had already committed to the other property without giving us the opportunity to offer a suitable solution. In regards to the $100 voucher, this was communicated in person that as your booking was processed through a third-party website, you had not directly paid the hotel any funds. This means there is nothing that we can offer in terms of a refund, as we are physically unable to pay out funds not originally paid to us. The only option at our disposal was a food and beverage credit, which was accepted and subsequently utilised. If the option was available for a refund of that nights' accommodation, it would have most certainly been offered.Obviously, I understand your decision to not have a return visit and again we apologise for the situation. Your feedback has been taken seriously and will be used as a way to improve our business for future guests.Peter OliverMawson Lakes Hotel

    Check-in is most disappointing

    rating09 Jan 2026

I booked two rooms through Booking.com and paid in full ahead of time. Unfortunately, check-in at Mawson Lakes Hotel was extremely disappointing. My guests were not allowed to check in until I arrived in person, which caused major inconvenience and forced me to leave an important function. What made the situation worse was the attitude at reception — staff suggested that the issue was my “mistake” for using Booking.com. This is simply unacceptable. I have booked through Booking.com many times without any problems, and their service remains far superior to what I experienced at Mawson Lakes Hotel.I will continue to use Booking.com, but I will not be returning to Mawson Lakes Hotel after this experience. Peter Oliver, Guest Services / Front Office at Mawson Lakes Hotel, responded to this review Thanks Kamau. While usually we are happy to accept errors and apologise, in this specific situation, we make no apologies for being strict on guest security. The reservation was made under your name and as such we expect the ID and credit/debit card present on arrival to match precisiely. In this case, we had two people attempt to check into your room that had no knowledge of the booking details and had completely unrelated names. Having then spoken to you personally at the time, it was advised that you could simply log back into Booking.com and change the reservation name to that of the people that had presented for the arrival. You refused to do this and chose to arrive in person. Regardless, we take extreme pride in ensuring that the correct guests are checked into the correct rooms without any risks to fraud prevention, safety or security. We quite simply adhered to this policy.Peter OliverMawson Lakes Hotel

"Worst Place I've Ever Booked – A Complete Scam!"

    rating28 Dec 2024

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had with a hotel. The place is running a scam. They advertise one thing but provide something entirely different. While I was checking in, I overheard nearly five people complaining about dirty bedsheets, bedbugs, and foul-smelling rooms.I had booked a 2-bedroom studio apartment with stair access and a kitchenette, but what I got was the complete opposite. Although the steep stairs were as advertised, there was no kitchenette at all. Instead, I was greeted with a dirty, filthy sofa, a broken TV table, and disgusting carpets. To make matters worse, the photos listed on Agoda were completely misleading. When I questioned the hotel about this, they demanded more money to "fix" the situation. The owner shrugged it off and simply said, "Bad luck," suggesting I should find another hotel. If you want to enjoy your holiday, avoid this place at all costs. Save your money and find a hotel that values its guests. This was a terrible experience, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Agoda is still investigating and will provide a resolution when we have to check out. Please stay away from this hotel. Please see first 4 photos to what we got as to what was advertised (in last 4 pics)
