Decent Stay with Minor Drawbacks

The hotel offered a fairly average experience with a mix of positives and a few issues. The room was clean enough and comfortable, though some areas felt slightly outdated. Staff were polite, but service was not always consistent and sometimes a bit slow. The location was convenient and made getting around easy. The stay was fine overall, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

This is a beautiful historic hotel but right now it's in the last days before it will be taken over by Kimpton and rebranded, so it is a little sad. Yes it is looking a little tired so the rebrand will help it. I have stayed here a few times before and it was a bit sad to see the hotel less busy and breakfast super quiet (choices felt a bit lackluster too).Staff still tried their best, especially the woman bringing over room service (arancini and fries, both yummy) but it does feel like the last days of a waning icon.

Fluffy bathrobes and slippers, big comfy bed, big tele, amenities that smell nice and include an actual cake of soap (love this!), even lots of hooks to hang things like towels, and a mini bar with included snacks and drinks.Well located, too!

Fairly good central location. However, hotel is generally not very clean and is run down. Breakfast buffet has poor service and choices are meh. Great location. Time for a facelift

The Mayfair has great bones. A great location, pleasant staff, a really good set-up. But, you need a face lift. Time for a deep clean, maybe a slight remodel, time to step it up a bit. Had a good stay and would want to stay again, but certainly would look at other options in the area until the face ,fit was completed.
