Unsafe and unsanitary conditions – BE CAREFUL

    rating03 Apr 2026

I stayed at this hostel in Adelaide and I strongly advise caution. The conditions were extremely unhygienic and unsafe:Insects and larvae were present in both the kitchen and the rooms. There were bugs in the beds, and I was bitten while sleeping (suspected bed bugs).Bathrooms were mouldy, damaged, and very dirty — the shower was unusable. The kitchen was so dirty that I was afraid to cook and had to eat outside every meal.Overall hygiene standards were far below acceptable levels.I reported the situation to the hostel management and the booking platform, but no action was taken. This experience was very stressful and poses a serious health risk. I hope this review helps others avoid the same problems.

0 Stars 0/1000 Do not stay here! Not Recommended!

    rating29 Apr 2024

I am staying in a room in a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom fully paid in advance. Since I've been in this room the bin has not been emptied once it's overflowing with rubbish. The room is generally dirty and run down. The light in the bathroom has never worked so I can't use the toilet or shower here at all so what's the point in paying extra for an ensuite. I asked the two other guys in the room who said the light in the bathroom has never worked for a long time. The light doesn't even have a light tube so you can't use the bathroom at all. The hostel is run down, the kitchen is filthy, the room is filthy. The water pressure for the showers is almost non existent the water is warm at best. Overall a massive disappointment. I do not recommend staying here it's not even one star. 0/1000! 0 Stars! Highly not recommended to stay here. 55 people out of 100 reviews have rated this hostel as either terrible or poor so I'm not alone here in giving this a terrible review. If you're homeless this place may be an option otherwise do not stay here you have been warned!

GRIM! Cockroaches, musty smell, dated, no windows, poor location, no refunds

    rating21 Jan 2023

I have stayed in about 200 hostels in 45 countries and this was the joint worst one I've slept in. I stayed in room 38 which smelt musty and had many cockroaches in the bathroom, bedroom floor and on the bedside table. There was a window but a bathroom had been built immediately in front of it so the view was of a plaster wall. On a bright summer's day we needed to put the light on. The ceiling appeared to be tiles of congealed hay. The bathroom was disgusting, with exceptionally ugly 70s tiles, excessive plugs (probably the source of the cockroaches) and a palm-sized hole in the middle of the floor that appeared to be blocked up with bits of tissue or cooked rice. The sliding door bounced around with gaps at the sides so we had no privacy. There are no windows in the kitchen, dining room or lounge, which were all dimly lit, uninviting and not a place you'd want to linger or socialise in. The location isn't ideal either, as you can't walk to the hostel from the bus or train station, beach, river or key attractions. A large sign says 'No refunds' and no wonder. If they allowed them everyone would request a refund, like I did. I checked out two days early. I told staff it was the joint worst hostel I'd ever stayed in. They didn't ask why. Life is too short to stay somewhere this grim.

Affordable Cosy hostel in Adelaide city

    rating16 Nov 2022

Great hostel and staff. Robert greeted us at check-in and nothing was a problem. We stayed in small 4 bed dorm and was nice and cosy. The building is cool. There is a massive balcony area to have a BBQ and a few beers. 10 min walk to Rundle St pubs. Good pub across the road for beers and pub meal. Parking was good in surrounding area. Thanks Robert for a great stay. 5 stars

Worst ever!!! Do not come here! BED BUGS!

    rating19 Mar 2020

-bed bugs, -bad hygiene, -bad smell, -bathrooms and kitchen in bad conditions, -disgusting, -very noisy Just do yourself a favour and DO NOT book it, it was literally the worst experience ever!! As we entered the building it already smelled bad. The kitchen and the bathrooms were in very bad conditions. And just to make everything worse, we had BED BUGS!! They were crawling all over the bed and the floor. When we spoke to the manager it seemed as if they knew about the problem and they did nothing about it. No wonder they have them with the bad hygiene all over the place! It was disgusting!
