  Complete lack of communication between staff

  Great location but seriously lacking in cleanliness and communication between staff. Issues such as dishwasher not working and engineer visiting several times, we were told that housekeeping would do our dishes by hand but they would just put them in the broken dishwasher so we would have to take them out and do them anyway. I raised the issue of the jets not working in the bath so they sent the engineer again, who said it was for a plumber not himself to fix. On further discussion with reception, the jets are deliberately not turned on, but obviously not all staff are aware of this.Regarding cleanliness, there was a dirty plaster in the bathroom which persisted our entire visit which makes you wonder how much cleaning is actually done. Vacuuming is only done once a week unless you catch the cleaner and ask them to do it, but frankly the vacuums they have do little more than push things from one part of the room to the other. Glenelg is great as ever but the price paid for this accommodation leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

  Poor accountability for poor service

  We arrived with washing to do and found the washing machine out of order. Online stated an extra bed was $20 per night and we ended up being charged $65. Room service was supposed to be included, we went out all day to return and find the bed unmade and nothing restocked. When I called admin they said they would send someone up to do it, they arrived, brought new towels we didn’t ask for and didn’t even make up the bed or restock the milk. And left again! I called admin a second time and zero apology and actually said ‘if there’s anything on the bed we won’t touch it mam’. I said ‘ there was nothing on the bed and in 30 years that has never stopped a hotel making up the room even if there was!’. Finally, for a 4 star hotel, to have a plasma caravan sized tv with no streaming capability is disgraceful.

  We were advised we would have a beachfront view.However our room was recessed and thus our view of the beach was approximately 70 degrees, not 180 degrees.   Check in service was extremely poor. Staff overcharged and couldn't work things out as we had multiple bookings. Pool was good and rooms clean although dated. We have stayed here several times but the service this time was by far the worst we have experienced.   Excellent location but room maintenance is lacking.

  Excellent location, great reception staff, and comfortable rooms. However, quite a bit of an ick factor as the walls in the room were heavily marked up, the couch had numerous stains on both sides of the cushions so I needed to use the bedding to sit on it, rusty and dirty floor grate, and a constant hum of air under the front door with or without my balcony door open that I needed to put a towel at the bottom of the front door to stop the continuous whistling. Also, no soap in the shower. Each unit is individually owned so I hope all units aren't as poorly maintained as 628.
