    Advertised at $100 Charged $171.44 – Misleading Booking Process & Disappointing Stay

    Fantastic location and that is where it ended. The tiny room itself appeared superficially clean, however there were several issues that were not acceptable for the amount ultimately charged:-stained bed linen,-dirty cups in the tea/coffee station in the room,-strong stale cigarette smell,-windows sealed shut with Perspex preventing any fresh air,-excessive noise transfer from adjoining rooms throughout the night.The room was also extremely small and the towels were worn, thin and overdue for replacement. Bathroom cleanliness questionable. What concerned me most, however, was the booking process itself. I booked via the Adelaide Paringa website believing I was booking directly with the hotel at the advertised AUD $100 room rate. After payment, my credit card was charged AUD $171.44 with substantial additional fees that were not clearly disclosed during the booking process.At check-in, staff advised the booking had been processed through third-party providers and stated the additional charges were “out of their hands.” Since then I have been directed between multiple companies including Booking.com, Guest Rooms and Priceline, with no clear accountability regarding the excessive fees and they had no comment about my issues with the room.To be fair, the reservation staff at the hotel were polite and helpful when I checked in, although were gone when I returned to question the cleanliness. Reservations was not open when I left in the morning and have had no acknowledgment via home calls or email about my concerns

    cheap hotel that is sneaky and charges higher rate than advertised

    Windows are sealed and cannot be opened, preventing ventilation. Persistent unpleasant odour within the very small room.Cups provided in the tea/coffee area were not clean.Sheets were stained.Room size was significantly smaller than expected.Bed quality was poor and uncomfortable, bath towels aged beyond a reasonable use-by date.Ambient noise from surrounding rooms was excessive, including although not limited too – light switches being turned off and on - you could hear the click, screaming children, guests movements, elevator.Reservation made directly on hotels Australian website, then charged in USD via Guest Rooms.com for $71.44 higher than advertised rack rate.A week after checkout - still attempting to get assistance from hotel regarding overcharge.Great location , just near the Mall. Atmosphere was inclusive because the walls are so thin you can hear everything that is happening around you.

    Over sold on the website. Motel in the lowest end of the market in a central site. Bring your own earplugs.

    I don't think I'd ask my dog to stay here. Dirty bathroom, well worn facilities, not good value.Single front counter staff member who works hard trying to put lipstick on this pig. Location is close to city centre and good eating but the noise is overwhelming. The ear plugs supplied did not help.

    It is a shame I can’t give 0 or 1 star.Dodgy area with people begging for money sat on their doorstep - no exaggeration.Car Park is actually off site in a Wilsons with urine flooding the lift and graffiti and urine flooding the stairwell.Then please see my photos for the room condition. Do not let yourselves be scammed by these crooks.

    This is a halfway house, not a motel or hotel for guests. The rooms are disgusting, old, dirty and broken and look like a prison cell. There was broken glass through the cupboards and carpets. Worst of all was how unsafe the place is. There is no security, no reception past 7pm and the whole place is dank narrow corridors that are incredibly scary when you come across the other residents that are obviously intoxicated or on drugs and you know there is no one there to help you. To check in after hours you have to wait in an alleyway in the middle of the worst part of the city and call multiple times until the after hours service answers the phone and gives you the door code. Our room stank of weed smoke from the room next to us, at least it overpowered the mouldy smell of the whole place. We left after one night, and the hotel won’t give me a refund, despite the fact that my daughter was too scared to stay there another night after coming across the intoxicated men outside our room and the rooms are way, way worse than they look in the photos.
