    Nowhere near 4 star!Staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast offering was ok. Rooms have the expected features and were comfortable. There was a balcony but no seating!When we arrived there was a message on the front desk saying back in 5 minutes and nowhere to sit comfortably. Indeed there is no kind of relaxed seating anywhere in the whole hotel. All seating throughout the hotel including the bar and breakfast room was fairly basic, upright chairs or stools. The bar often shuts early from our experience , meaning that you have to go to your room.Unfortunately we didn't have a comfortable stay, as we found the hotels amenities to be too basic. If that's what you're looking for, this is a friendly place.

    What a surprise. Flew in early evening and thought we'd have a quick bite at this clean and comfortable but budget hotel. And after having to wait for a table to be free we had one of the better meals in a much travelled existence. All the food was excellent, the lady serving delightful and professional-and the boss man has his own vinyard, with great quality and very good value bottles on the list. Sadly they were full on the next day and closed Sunday, but if you're in town and appreciate it when a restaurant gets it right, you couldn't do much better for the price anywhere Barry Swaine, General Manager at Rydges South Park Adelaide, responded to this review Dear John,Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback!     The staff at The Rydges were so welcoming- their complimentary shuttle service to the Royal Adelaide Show made our stay even more comfortable and stress-free. This was made even better by the service being available from 7am-7pm, as our students were required to be there by 7.30am. Wonderful venue, well located and kind staff. Will definitely be back.     Easy check in requested late check out customer service very accommodating to our requests. Beautiful bar and dining with 360 views of the city. Happy hour has $12 cocktails. Room with balcony had Beautiful views of the parklands. Pool isn't heated but after a hot spa it's still nice to swim in. Buffet breakfast included bacon, sausages, mushrooms spinach, scrambled eggs fried eggs, hash brown, variety of bread, spreads like honey, jams, Vegemite, croissants, muffins, waffles. Fresh juices all absolutely delicious. Looking forward to returning. Excellent customer service.     Not the rydges standard but good enough

    Not exactly the standars for a Rydges Hotel. Check in easy and staff on the day gave my son a chocolate bar for his birthday. Room was spacious, the bath and balcony a treat and offered a great view.The free courtesy bus which doesn't run on public holidays was good- we only knew about it as we saw the sign.Housekeeping need to learn to actually make the bed and use an mattress protector that fits cos all night it just moves and is pretty annoying.They also need to take the rubbish when they clean a room.The pool IS NOT HEATED as per website, the spa is pretty good though.Breakfast is a total flop- first brekafast steamed zuchinni/brocolli/cauliflower like what the hell is that?. Scrambled eggs vile, poached eggs on request thank goodness. The pastry section did not change and was not refreshed for 4 days totally off and not at all fresh. The rest of the selection was not at all worth the money and frankly had we not prepaid we wouldn't have gone back. Location a fair walk from the city and the tram but a great park across the road for kids. Youtube on the tv as an app, air con worked well. Laundry service prompt and pretty affordable.
