Great place to stay the bike hire and Shiraz trail were a highlight for us.

    rating07 Dec 2025

Great hotel we loved the bike hire available onsite.Visited for a degustation lunch nearby. Hired bikes right near the cellar door. The Shiraz trail is flat and comfortable and a great way to explore the area.We visited the cellar door and staff were friendly and great service. Nice wines.Accommodation was older style but clean and comfortable. Rooms quite large.

Don’t be fooled by a positive reception. Awful! Avoid or ask them to pay you to stay!!!

    rating22 Jul 2025

Visiting from Europe and don’t understand these positive reviews unless continents have totally different standards. I can put up with dated if clean, however, cracked tiles in numerous places in the bathroom together with a wonderful array of numerous coloured stains in the bath (which doubled up as shower) forced me to wear my flip flops; luckily I had these, but couldn’t wait to get out! The rooms were extremely cold as was the austere bathroom. Putting the heating on in the bedroom, didn’t permeate through to the bathroom so further accentuated the awful experience. When checking out we were asked about our stay but despite mentioning all the above, the receptionist was only interested in what (if anything) we had consumed from the minibar………says it all!!!

    It's quiet, comfortable and clean

    rating29 Jun 2025

The motel units are of the older style, but we found it quiet (very important), clean and two singles pushed together suits me fine, as after 50 years together, it's no issue as for some. The room is too spacious for two, but if the lounge folds out to a bed, very roomy. It's out of the town area, but walkable for us. The grounds are beautiful if covered with quirky geese and their feathers and droppings and only the mornings at sunrise to the chorus of galahs - very nice rural greeting. The building design is old, but I found it did not smell old or musty, carpets looked renewed, tiles in the bath show cracking but nothing worse than I've seen in a modern rental apartment in Tanunda. My couple of annoyances - I dislike plastic kettles and in this age when health and environment are a concern, I can only hope Serafino accommodation will gradually replace plastic kettles with stainless steel ones. The crockery and cutlery provided to make a simple cereal breakfast were adequate if mismatched, but no microwave to heat anything. A minor hiccup in our road trip after having microwave ovens in all accommodation. A espresso pod coffee maker is provided, but a microwave is of more use to us.Overall it was a comfortable night's sleep and would stay again. The complimentary wine tasting was thoughtful and enjoyed by all. The hatted restaurant unfortunately was not open on the night we stayed.

Relaxing surroundings but also close to local amenities & other wineries

    rating02 Jun 2025

Accommodation set in extensive lovely grounds a short distance away from the town centre. Happy with our choice, and the restaurant is well worth a visit (see separate review - bookings advisable). Allocated parking directly outside one's own room makes luggage handling a breeze.

    Great Stay

    rating22 Nov 2024

We spent one night while attending a wedding in McLaren Vale. Very friendly & professional staff on check-in & in the cellar door for our complimentary wine tasting included. A very large room, good aircon, very comfortable king size bed. Small kitchenette including a toaster & coffee machine. Rooms do need updating but everything is in good condition. A lovely quiet room.
