Don’t go there!!!! We booked 4 nights here, and when we went to the hostel it was closed. It was a big construction site. We called the number of Darwin hostel, and they wrote back that we were being upgraded to The Cozy Hostel, which apparently have the same owner. We then went over to the cozy hostel, which didn’t live up to ANY of the facilities that we payed for. There were no pool, trash everywhere, alcohol, and dirty rooms. We didn’t get any room number, check in information or anything! It’s a big SCAM, and we are now in contact with Hostelworld to get our money back! So do not ever book there!

This was such a bad experience. The common areas were all extremely dirty and I wouldn't want to be hang out there under any circumstances. The kitchen was so dirty, with flies and smelled bad. Slept there for two nights, even though we booked 7. Tried to get some of our money back as the hostel didn't live up to our expectations in any way an was extremely unhygienic. The manager didn't want to cooperate and we had to pay for the full week. Very bad experience and wouldn't recommend anyone to go here.

Cancelled my booking and I am still waiting on a refund two months later. The place dirty. I didn't have a shower there. Get a tent instead. I have not had any response to my emails. Age limit so paid $195 for room without shower. Rip off.

If I could rate 0 I would. I’m putting up this review because I have traveled extensively in developing countries in extremely cheap accommodation and this place compared unfavourably with such. The price for the night was not even cheap for what it was. The door lock didn’t work and I had to leave my room open when I needed the bathroom and went out for food. I received a scathing message from manager after I left my review wherein he wished that I would get cancer and to go f myself. Charming

Darwin Hostel is not the best hostel facility wise but it's 100% worth staying at! The vibes are amazing even though the old building does need a bit of an update. The mattresses as well are a hit or miss so I thought the prices in October were a lot more reasonable than what I payed late September. You'll for sure feel that "We Will Rock You" - vibe. People are lovely and Liam, the manager is very helpful. He can be a a bit grumpy when you mention Harry Potter but you just got to Play The Game. I never felt Under Pressure playing and to be honest Another One Bit The Dust because I love my new haircut. Fun people, good vibes and a free BBQ on Monday, I Want It All. It was sad leaving Darwin but Don't Stop Me Now. Liam also Wants To Break Free from Darwin and The Show Must Go On. Lots of fun guaranteed with the new manager as well. Definitely can recommend a jump in the pool! X
