Family comes first. Family rooms are a treat. Enough room for mum, dad and kids. Then another room for Nana and Pop and grandkids too. Always a pleasure staying at Desert Palms Resort. Easy to book, fabulous rooms and gorgeous pool area. The staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. Thank you team xx

Great place to stay, use as a base or just to chillax.

Easy to book. Good price for a 7 night booking.Warm greeting on arrival. Everything explained eg. Wifi, gate codes, air-conditioning remote etc. Cabin is clean, well presented and maintained. Basic kitchen utensils, pots pans etc but all that we needed. Rooms not serviced daily but just pop into reception and they give clean towels, extra coffee, tea, milk etc. Gardens are neat tidy, well presented and maintained. All staff we interacted with were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Pool area was nice and clean as was pool itself. 500mtrs to Casino and dining options. Golf course at rear gate.Hannuman restaurant next door, food to die for. Have stayed here a few times and have always been very happy.Ideal for groups, families, couples, singles etc.One size (place) fits all.Would highly recommend.

Good location and clean pleasant cabin

    rating28 Oct 2025

I was a little anxious about staying here as some reviews had mentioned spiders but our cabin, number 140, overlooking the golf court on the side of the development was clean and bug free. The room was fine with a double bed and single bed, well equipped kitchenette area and small bathroom. We would have liked a light on both sides of the bed.The swimming pool looked very nice but we didn't use it. The grounds are not huge but covered in palm trees so look very attractive.Check in was friendly and efficient and we were also able to store our luggage in a secure room next to reception on the day we left. They give you a code for the back gate to use the Golf Club behind for their restaurant. We did go there but it was a very cavernous space which looked more like an airport lounge and had no charm. The outdoor area was reserved for a private event so we didn't eat there but went to the hotel next door for dinner. We had a lovely view of sunrise from our cabin as we overlooked part of the golf course. It was a great and safe place to stay in Alice Springs.

Good value for a good hotel

We stayed 2 times for 2 nights each. Happy with the value and the place. The pool is really cool, I like the shape. The rooms are spacious and have a little kitchen plus nice beds and parking outside. The reception was really kind and it was a smooth process.

Cheapest is not always the best

    rating25 Jan 2025

Desert Palms Alice Springs is a series of 80 small cabins, all the same layout, with a swimming pool out front. This was one of the most economical places to stay in town at $366 US for three nights. The office is only open 0600 to 2000. There is a code to open the front gate after hours. They have a 24-hour laundry which costs $5 AU to wash and the same to dry. Housekeeping is only provided if you stay more than seven days. Each room has a small kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, dish washer and electric pot. Even though they warn you to make sure your door is always locked they do not provide in-room safes. They provided three bath towels and one wash cloth. Pump dispensers in the shower. No body lotion, paper towels, or tissues provided. The electrical outlet for the small desk was in the lower wall and only the overhead light for lighting. Queen bed had a comforter with two pillows inside. The comforter was not very warm and it had a rough texture. Two extra pillows and ablanket in the cabinet. Had to slide your key into a special holder to operate the air conditioning. The only place you were not too cold with the AC operating was under the covers, otherwise the AC was always blowing on you. The office/reception has some water, beer, ice cream, and some frozen items. For the most part you will need to go into town to pick up additional groceries. It was 20-30 minute walk into town or about $15 AU for a taxi.
