Superbly located, the motel offers the perfect place to unwind in Alice Springs. This is the ideal location to explore the spectacular rugged beauty that Central Australia has to offer and is just a few minutes stroll to the Todd Mall. Facility

The motel has a lift and features 81 rooms, including 8 single rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities available at the motel include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The motel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a playroom.     Well a last minute booking There was one dirty cup in the cupboard With nothing else Pillows were only as thin as a sheet They took my credit card details for incidentals when the fridge was empty I think they must have thought I came from a hut and it was luxury for me It was a horrible experience

    Great location. Rooms spacious but a little dated. Fridge kettle tv all present. Room clean and comfortable bed. Good value hotel with nice pool and next door to a cafe and uncles pub. Our room was quiet.

    Centrally located hotel. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was small, comfortable , clean and basic but all we needed for the night.We ate at the bar.     The Diplomat is very conveniently located, right in the middle of town.The room was basic and, although the furnishings are old, it was very clean and spacious. Everything in the room worked well.There’s a cafe and a bar downstairs. The bar has decent nightly dinner specials which are affordable and quite good.The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.I thought the hotel was great value for Alice Springs and I’d happily stay again.     Decades ago, when I worked in in retail travel, the Diplomat was the place to stay. Unfortunately it looks like parts haven't been updated in decades. The location is excellent, but it badly needs some TLC in places. Being on a busy town centre intersection, it's also noisy at times with passing traffic.
