    A very bad hotel, dirty rooms, shower that leaks water onto the carpet outside the bathroom, rude staff all in all not a good place to stay

    My husband & I booked this motel for a one night stay whilst we attended the Edinburgh Miliatary Tattoo performance at the Suncorp Stadium on Saturday 14 February 2026. We arrived around 1:30pm and were given the keys to our motel room. Upon opening the door, we were met with a very strong bleach smell. Within about 10 minutes my eyes were tearing up, my nose was irritated and the back of my throat felt choked up. I lifted the blind to try and find how to open the window to get some fresh air circuilating in the room, but there was no obvious handle so I couldn't open it. This was when I noticed a mass of black mould across the top of the window. I along with my husband went back to reception explaining about the smell and mould and asking if we could be moved to another room. The staff member did not respond to this request, but asked if she could come to the room to have a look. She looked at the mould but did not comment only acknowledging the smell of bleach. She opened the window and asked us to leave the unit door open and we closed the bathroom door. When we left at 5pm to go to the performance, we closed the window and the front door to the motel room leaving the bathroom door shut. We arrived back at the motel around 10:30pm and on opening the door, we were again met with a strong bleach smell even though we had closed the bathroom door. My husband and I agreed we could not sleep in a room with those fumes, so we packed up, left the key in the drop off box around 11pm and drove home. If the bleach fumes were not bad enough, seeing all of that black mould was of great concern in unit 33. First impressions count and we will not be back there. Have not heard back from anyone from this establishment with respect to the note I attached to the key. No apology, nothing...pretty poor given we paid for one night and we didn't stay. First impressions count and we will not be back there.

    Lovely reception, lady. The room was spotless and fully stocked with everything you might need if travelling. Walking distance to restaurants and cafes. Bed was good, pillow great.

    There was no lift to the second floor and the water in the bathroom didn't heat up. Also the microwave must have been old because the food took longer to heat up than usual. The beds were comfortable and the TV worked. It was okay for two nights stay.

    We stayed here for one ngt b4 heading to Gold Coast. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Sell beverages at reception :) Older hotel but still kept nice, tidy grounds and clean rooms, comfortable beds. Great location close to shops, Cafe and the best playground down the road!! Pool is great also. Good value for money. Thank you.
