    Good, but not great

    rating15 Feb 2026

The hotel is well located, about a 5-7 minute walk from Fortitude Valley train station. Check-in was quick and polite. The room is compact, just a queen bed and luggage stand, but no chair. The air conditioner was efficient, but hard to control. (I turned it into heat to stop the fan.). But, the clock did not work, nor did the TV; the latter was not good. But as we were only there for an hour before going out, it was not an issue. The cafe downstairs had a fabulous breakfast. I would think about staying again, but would consider elsewhere too.

Poor air conditioning, no refund offered if I wished to leave with services not as described

    rating13 Dec 2025

Central to Fortitude Valley, no street parking and no hotel parking available, we parked in an empty reserved parking space at the guidance of the hotel. The hotel looks nice from the outside. We arrived and checked in. The rooms are nice. The air conditioning was not working. The room was steamy and hot. The staff were not happy to give a refund or cancel our booking. The team mentioned, 'the air conditioning is not designed for such hot weather and we are full so we cannot move you. We are fully booked and the aircon is not designed to support a full house.' We were given a fan, which moved the air around the room, but did not cool it down. Other guests complained of too cold. None of us could get comfortable, leading me to think the aircon is not working internally in the hotel. Dont stay if its hot in Brisbane, the hotel does not offer basic creature comfort. And if its not designed to have air conditioning working for a full house, I would not trust your comfort.

    Good but room for improvement

    rating07 Dec 2025

One night stay in December 2025. Room 107 was a superior queen room, it appears the room is the same as a queen but the balcony makes it superior which would have been fine had it not been a warm afternoon and west facing room. The room itself is small at 22m2, it was reasonably clean and the bed was firm and comfortable with a couple of spare pillows. There is no table or chairs aside from a small overbed single table akin to a hospital bed table.TV was OK but there was no internet access or hotel information available on it and the room wifi needed a code in addition to a password which we were not given. The room had a good mini bar selection but there was no price list, there was also a kettle and pod coffee machine – alas, no coffee pods were provided, so this rendered the pod coffee as a non-starter. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a walk in shower and nice towels. The ventilation is lacking and the large mirror (not over the basin) fogged up completely. As mentioned in other reviews, there is a window with some frosting on it between the bathroom and bedroom which has somewhat reduced privacy, but I guess in a room with one bed, the presumption is you would be reasonably comfortable with this arrangement.Check in was OK but not very personable and no advice received about the hotel or the included breakfast.Breakfast is in the café at ground floor level and they have a special menu from which to choose from for the included / prepaid breakfast, the food was good and the breakfast staff quite friendly and accommodating.Parking in the undercroft is secure but an additional $30.00 plus 1.5% credit card surcharge per night.Overall I was reasonably happy with the stay as it was walking distance to a function attended in Fortitude Valley. I would look for other options in the area if I was staying in Brisbane again and may consider staying further out from town and catching public transport in as the public transport is only 50c per trip.
