    Acceptable accommodation, room was dated and smelt a bit musty but was large with nice balcony and good views. Staff were very pleasant which was a plus. Location is good as near to river & supermarket next door. Carpark is a nightmare and good test of driving ability. Overall, no complaints.     I have stayed here a number of time over the last few years and have always been pleased with the experience, check in was smooth and received an upgrade which was nice.the room was well equipped with a full kitchen, lounge area and separate bedroom, it even had a small balcony,there is now a café/restaurant in the lobby which does a pretty good breakfast,you do get some traffic noise from emergency vehicles but this seems to be the same whichever hotel I stay in in Brisbane, I will definitely be back again Reception Team, Guest Services / Front Office at Mantra on Queen Brisbane, responded to this review Dear Paul,We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the Mantra on Queen Brisbane.     Centrally located, close to shopping malls and restaurants at Riverside and Howard’s Wharf. There is easy access to the River Loop Walkway and the ferry wharves which at 50c per trip is a great way to get around Brisbane. The apartments are spacious and very clean and if staying for few days there is a small kitchen equipped with utensils, microwave, toaster and kettle - plenty of coffee and teas. Also behind the hotel is Springhill Market Place which has a pharmacy, liquor store and supermarket. If you have been travelling for a while there is a bonus of a washing machine. The bedroom again is spacious and the bed very comfortable and you have a choice of pillows. The balcony has great views of Storey Bridge and Brisbane River where one can enjoy a nice cold drink and watch the activity on the river. The 5th floor has a sun area and a swimming pool which is small but very welcoming after hot day sightseeing. Also there is a sauna and spa and again a small gym which is well maintained (on holiday so not used). It is a ten minute walk to the famous Felons Brewery under the Storey Bridge. Staff are very friendly and helpful and as an Accor Member we were greeted with a bottle of wine and beers in our room. Perfect place to stay if visiting Brisbane short or long term.     Really poor customer service from Accor's Mantra on Queen in Brisbane -- beware when making bookings here

    Travellers beware! I booked accommodation at this Mantra in April, paid with Accor points (Gold Member) but needed to cancel the booking due to change of travel plans. I cancelled the 2 night stay in very good time, but then found that notwithstanding that I'd been assured that I'd be refunded to my Accor account -- i.e. the points I'd used to make the booking -- nothing happened. A whole 6 months later, and notwithstanding numerous emails following up and requesting assistance. How does this work ... is this a global hotel chain or what? It seems they have lots of issues with systems and communications in their various establishments -- and they certainly seem not to be able to uphold their own cancellation policy. How odd is that. On this basis, I'm not at all keen any longer to trust funds/points programme at Accor.

    Room booked and paid for - on arrival told there was not a room available.

    On July 26th we arrived in Brisbane on an International flight. We booked and paid for accommodation for that night, to check on on the 27th. However, on arrival to the hotel, we found it locked up. and the desk unattended. We found a afterhours number and called saying we had booked and paid for a room only to be told on the phone there were no rooms available for us and that we would need to find other accommodation. Not very convenient at 11pm. Since then, I have been in touch with the hotel by phone and email requesting a refund. To date there has been no response. I could not recommend this accommodation because of our very unsatisfactory experience. We are still waiting for our refund.
