    Mixed. Room pretty good but bathroom sink had a chip. Reception staff were polite, professional and helpful. Restaurant meals and staff let down this Novotel. Staff kept bring 'still water' bottle and wanting to charge $9 when I clearly asked several times for 'tap water'. Food was mediocre.     Great short stay - Tremendous Staff!

    Just a one night stay as we had an early flight, but it was enough time to visit the South Bank. A big thank you to all the reception staff at the Novotel who helped me when I left a bag in my Uber!     This did not go as planned. Originally booked a non -refundable 2 night stay in November . Due to illness rang to cancel, was adv can change dates so booked in for Jan this year - room rate cheaper so we had room credit. Unfortunately mother became ill so rang to cancel and offered date change to 13-14 Feb and yes still had room credit. Imagine my surprise to be called to reception after check in (room credit had been discussed) to be advised we needed to pay another $700 to stay!!! (probs price gouging because of event nearby)! I asked why this wasn’t mentioned when dates were changed and why I did we have room credit - ahh no room credit. Apparently they had sent an attachment which advised but as the email stated the dates I didn’t check. After a lively discussion. We were permitted to stay the night at no extra cost, wow big of them. 2 lessons learnt - always check attachments in case they pull a swifty and NEVER staying there again….. believe me this room was NOT worth the $600/night they were charging , Owner at Novotel Brisbane South Bank, responded to this review Dear Sharon,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.     So this hotel has many positives - central location, sizeable well equipped rooms and decent breakfasts but it has a real Achilles Heel - the bar (and restaurant) closed even for residents at 2130! Surely this is a mistake! Weary travellers like us enjoy a nightcap or two, and businessmen often want to have pre-meeting chats in the hotel bar.     An enjoyable 3-night stay with a few wrinkles

    We had an enjoyable 3-night stay but there were a few things that weren't great.Positives - clean, comfortable room with plenty of space; the shower was very good; bar / restaurant area was nice; quality of the food at breakfast was good (but see comments below); staff were friendly and helpfulNegatives - while it may be a question of taste, we found the room layout to be pretty weird; the bathroom wasn't a separate room but had a sliding wooden partition plus a frosted glass door so that either the shower cubicle or the toilet (but not both!) could be closed off; the wardrobe was a decent size but had very few hangers and there was limited drawer space; the choice at the breakfast buffet wasn't always great although the quality of what was on offer was good , Owner at Novotel Brisbane South Bank, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your feedback following your stay with us.
