    Micro niggles but they all add up to an adequate rating.

    The positives:Early check-in member benefit was accommodated. My room was quiet, clean, bathroom was good.Breakfast was good, lots of fresh fruit and veggies in addition to the standard fare. I was able to pre-book my shuttle to domestic before arriving, (but this option was hard to find).Middling: The pool was not quite as relaxing due to the traffic noise. Not really anything the hotel can do but just something to be aware of. The hotel also has a weird policy of not serving food you order at your pool lounger because “food gets in the pool”. I was the only person at the pool for the two hours I was there but had to move to the seating outside the pool area for my food. So many other hotels without this policy so 🤷‍♀️The negatives:The Exec Room is not value for money especially for solo travellers. I found out too late that the hotel has abandoned a hosted exec lounge in favour of two drinks vouchers and a platter at the bar. They do make the platter look pretty, but you have no option to pick hors d'oeuvres, so I left most of mine. The wine is cheap Chain of Fire ($12 a bottle stuff) which doesn’t even feature on the regular wine list. The same is offered for the Accor Gold welcome drink. As mentioned on another of my recent reviews, offering $10 -$12 off any wine or beer would be a good option for the Accor members drink rather than the very inferior wines on offer. Chain of Fire is affordable plonk but not good - the Chardonnay has no oak but manages to taste like petrol. The Pinot Noir was overly fruity but rough. If you have more than one piece of luggage, the route to walk from the domestic terminal to the hotel is not good. Roads to cross, pavement disappears, a car park to navigate etc. Although hotel shuttle drops off there, it doesn’t pick up. Knowing this I took a taxi direct from the international terminal direct to the hotel for $26. So all in all the things that attracted me to book the Pullman over the cheaper options (relaxing pool and exec lounge) did not meet what I expected.

    Nice hotel on the outskirts of the Brisbane Airport.

    Nice hotel once we found it after getting to the airport by train from the Gold Coast. Not very well signposted from the train station and hard to see at it hides behind the Ibis. A fair walk too from the train station. Reception was weird. They are trialling a self service check in but a member of staff is there to do the check in for you! Why not just have a check in receptionist? The room was very nice and comfortable. Very comfy bed and great en-suite. No free shuttle to the international airport, it’s chargeable and only runs until 9am. But a walk back to the domestic airport and we caught the free airport shuttle bus to the international side instead. Breakfast was really good. Great quality and selection at the buffet. Food in the evening was expensive and a bit posh for us so we walked 2 minutes to the Ibis next door and enjoyed a more laidback meal in their cafe restaurant.

    Beware: Dreadful Customer Service

    BEWARE: My husband and I stayed in late February for one night before flying home to Canada. I had booked a reservation online weeks in advance, guaranteed by credit card but was asked for my credit card at check-in. Long story short, I was billed twice.I contacted the hotel directly by email when I returned home. It took about a week for my request to be passed along to the Front Office Duty Manager, Luke, who assured me that the error would be corrected and my credit card refunded. I was thanked for my patience and I trusted this would be dealt with in a timely manner.Despite weekly contact and repeated promises, there has been no refund. Clearly correcting hotel errors is not a priority. This is very poor customer service. I have spent a considerable amount of time to get this resolved. I am left with the impression that the hotel neither cares nor has the processes in place to correct their mistakes.For other travellers, please watch your credit card transactions after staying here. The hotel is on the higher end of hotel offerings at the Brisbane airport and reportedly 5 star. This experience has resulted in a 1 star review, which I will gladly correct if and when the hotel corrects its error and does what it has promised.We had been loyal Pullman guests. However, in a hotel market where customers have many choices, returning to any Pullman property will not be in our future.
