Average and dated used to be special

    rating23 May 2026

Not terrible. Average and dated describes it. No business centre to use. Average dated gym (some good equipment). Dated rooms with a lack of attention to detail (dusty glasses). Weird things too, such as a funeral directors conference being in the lobby (6-7 tables …for a formal dinner was…..odd!). Breakfast ok. Used to be quite special. Isn’t now. We usually love Sofitel and use Accor a lot. The good? Staff nice and it’s central. Bottom line..it’s well overdue for a Reno.

The hotel at the top of the hill

    rating11 May 2026

One of my favourite, if not favourite, hotel in Brisbane. Sitting above Central station it is easy to get to & from, easy walk to the CBD & Queen Street Mall, the river and all Brisbane has to offer. The accommodation is first class as you would expect from a Sofitel, without the price tag of some other so called 5 star hotels.I’ve been a regular guest of this hotel over many years and have never left disappointed, the staff are always friendly, efficient and very French, which I love.Bistro Suzette is a great place to dine, food is amazing and you can properly dine, there’s no rush to get you out.The bar is light and welcoming & a fantastic spot to meet friends, clients or to just have a quiet drink with your loved one. The bar staff know their stuff and happy to have a chat & a laugh, all designed to make you relax and forget about the outside world.Highly recommend giving it a go!

Three Night Stay in a Premier Suite Room 1201 : CAN DO BETTER

    rating10 May 2026

This was our 2nd stay at the Sofitel Brisbane since November 25. It was a vastly different experience. And the 2nd time round was over the ANZAC day weekend was disappointing to say the least. We reserved a Suite Room which was listed at around $500 per night. Since we used our suite night upgrades we paid less. But the fact remains that at that price one would expect Lounge access to be included. It is not. We had lounge access since we were Platinum tier members. But it is not this that we found significantly different. Between late November 2025 and late April 2026, the lounge services have been dumbed down so much , We have decided that we will not stay there again. The Lounge is a make shift Lounge : in other words the street facing breakfast area becomes the lounge in the afternoon. The last time we stayed, the afternoon tea had some choices including some savory sandwiches etc, this time there was one type of cake repeated on 2 of the 3 days and very pale scones and jam The coffee comes out of a machine that is often not working or has run out of milk: I will upload the pictures from Sofitel Wentworth where we stayed on the 2 and 3rd May so you can see what the difference in offerings and service. It was only one week apart and I think the F&B team from Brisbane needs to review what they are doing and possibly take a trip to Sydney to see what the Sofitel Wentworth and Darling Habour ( Stayed there on Australia day Weekend 26)offer at afternoon tea and evening Canapes and Drinks. The Hotel seems to oversell the Lounge access rooms, so many guests are left standing in line or have to leave and come back. The staffing levels were dismal, and the overall experience was under whelming to say the least. Sofitel Wentowrth does not allow kids under 12 after 5 pm . Sofitel Brisbane has kids running around or being noisy at evening Canapes and Drinks. Not Good. Each guest is offered 1 serve of hot canapes served to the table and a servery where cheese and dips and some fruit is available to self serve. The Wine and beer is self serve. 1 red wine on offer ! In contrast, Sofitel Wentworth the following weekend has a carvery with a Chef on standby, and hot and cold canapes in the self serve counter as well as excellent staffing levels. The Breakfast is in the main dining area and is extremely busy and often chaotic. Again in contrast to all of the other Sofitels we have stayed in, where breakfast is in the Millesime Club Lounge. The Room was renovated and nice but the bathroom is still the old bathroom and the toilet seemed to give out a pong like it was blocked somewhere down stream. The Check in and check out was straightforward. We Wish the team all the best but I really do believe that Sofitel Brisbane have started taking their guest for granted and would need to do some serious naval gazing to fix what was working quite well in November 2025.

Very disappointed with the Club Millésime experience.

    rating22 Apr 2026

Very disappointed with the Club Millésime experience. It was a premium, top-floor lounge with expansive skyline views — something special. Instead, we were relegated to a lower level with views of rooftops and gutters.Add to that:• Queuing for drinks• A very underwhelming, almost token food selectionIt felt more like a downgrade than an upgrade. What summed it up perfectly? A staff member’s response:“It is what it is.”Unfortunately, that says everything. Sofitel Brisbane, Guest Services / Front Office at Sofitel Brisbane Central, responded to this review Bonjour, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback,I am very sorry to read of your disappointment with your Club Millésime experience. The Club experience should feel special, seamless, and reflective of the premium offering it represents, and I regret that this was not your impression. I am also sorry to hear of the delays for service and that the food offering did not meet expectations. In addition, I sincerely apologise for the comment you received. This is not the level of care or professionalism we expect from our team, and I understand how this would have left a lasting negative impression.Your feedback has been shared with the relevant teams so we can review these areas carefully and ensure improvements are made.If you would like to discuss your experience further, please let me know a suitable time and I would be more than happy to arrange a call.Rhianne CampbellLuxury & Guest Experience Manager

    A very pleasant surprise

    rating22 Apr 2026

This hotel was chosen for us as part of a travel package that we had booked. We could not have been happier with this option. Despite the fact that they did get our room type wrong (we asked for twin room and were given a king bed), they addressed this matter relatively quickly, but overall, the hotel, the rooms, the breakfast options etc, there was noting that we could fault. The location was perfect, smack bang in the middle of the town, close to food options and an easy escalator down to street level. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would definitely make it my first choice to stay again. The cost was more than acceptable given what was included and they furnishings etc that we had in our room. Rooms were large, bathroom great with good hot water and a great flow. Sofitel Brisbane, Guest Services / Front Office at Sofitel Brisbane Central, responded to this review Bonjour, Thank you for taking the time to share your review, and please accept my apologies for the delay in responding.I am so pleased to read that your stay with us was such a pleasant surprise and that you enjoyed the hotel, our central location, and the overall comfort of your room. It’s wonderful to know that the facilities, breakfast offering, and value of your stay all contributed to a positive experience. At the same time, I would like to apologise for the initial room allocation not aligning with your request. I’m glad to hear the team was able to resolve this promptly.Your kind recommendation truly means a lot to us, and I will be sure to share your feedback with the team.We very much look forward to welcoming you back again for another seamless stay.Rhianne CampbellLuxury & Guest Experience Manager
