    Beware of LIMITED ONSITE PARKING

    rating08 Jan 2026

Be aware that parking is VERY LIMITED.( we counted 8 spaces) If you park on the street you will need to pay for parking , unless you park after 10pm and leave before 7am.

    Regret

Strangest and most unwelcoming hotel I've ever stayed in* Passports were demanded for ID for all guests, drivers license not good enough (have never seen ID required for all guests at any hotel before, let alone not accepting drivers license. Drivers license is good enough for law enforcement, but not this hotel??)* Signs all over the room essentially asking you to not use power (ie, don't spend too long in the shower, turn off lights etc if not needed) + fridge unplugged along with a sign saying only plug in if necessary. If you do choose the plug the fridge in, it makes a loud noise and shakes every 15 mins* Along with the previous point - hotel claims all this to be because they're eco-friendly. This is not the case, as made obvious by the "eco" soaps the supply which are in fact the cheapest you can possibly buy online from the DRC. If they were truly concerned about the environment they'd be purchasing locally. Everything in this hotel is based on being as cheap for the owner as possible* There were ants on the glassware* Bed is on wheels that can't be locked so impossible to sit up in bed, because if you lean back on the wall the entire bed rolls forward* Air con is extremely loud and vibrates the entire room* Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on in the rooms around you/hallway* Had a balcony but it was impossible to unlock the door - looking at other reviews you have to request staff to open the balcony door for you* Restaurant downstairs was closed for the entire stay* If you're not lucky enough to get one of the few car parks available behind the hotel, I'm not sure I'd trust the safety of parking on the street as the hotel is directly across from a dodgy park with multiple homeless visibly hanging aroundAgain, the strangest and most uncomfortable hotel I've ever stayed in. Owner obviously shouldn't be in this business as has no interest in making this a comfortable stay for guests.

    Ray...The Greatest Name in Hospitality

    rating14 Jun 2025

I flew for Houston to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia to take a crazy repositioning cruise headed for Seattle. I searched for and researched hotels in Brisbane for ease of access to public transportation and, of course, price. This was my first trip to Australia and I knew I would need to run into some helpful folks to get my bearings.I picked this hotel based on the Tripadvisor reviews for a manager named Ray. I'm glad to say that Ray made me look like a genius for picking The Soho Brisbane. Ray communicated with me several times by email and assured me everything would be okay with my solo trip to the land down under.I don't know if it's the norm in Australia, but it seems that quite a few hotels do not have 24 hour check in and customer service. That's the case at The Soho. The lobby opens at 8:00 a.m., but Ray unlocked the doors at around 7:30 a.m. The lobby was functional but cramped. There were several people that had flown in with me on a very early arriving flight. I met two other couples who told me that won't stay anywhere else but The Soho when they are in Brisbane. I knew I had made a good hotel choice.Ray said the hotel sells out every night, but the hotel cleaning staff was already hard at work and he offered a free check in once a room of my type was ready. You won't believe this, but I was in a room by 9:00 a,m. Perfect. Far better than the 2 p.m. check in time. Ray saw that I was struggling with my luggage and he even helped me get my bags to my room. That was great because there is a pretty good incline to get to the entry door and the entry door requires a code to get in. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. There was coffee and tea in the room. The barebones bathroom is old timey, but functional. PRO TIP for Americans: bring an electric outlet converter. Australian plugs only.Ray was better than Google with area directions and public transportation tips. I got to walk over to the Financial District for shopping and dining. The Soho's restaurant was out of commission due to the severe tropical storm flooding the week before my arrival. There is a great park across the street from the hotel for a beautiful morning walk. No breakfast at the hotel, but tons of options within a quarter mile. The hotel was perfect for me without Ray, but Ray made the stay special. He was gracious with all the guests and I hope he is there when I go back. Ray even helped me walk my luggage down to my Uber. So, the area is great. the room was great

This hotel reception operates ftom 8am to 8pm if your arrival time is not during this period, be not worried the hotel staff will contact you and give details how to accede your room. The room is very nice that all rooms have terrace for looking the the front park. It’s clean and tidy. Staffs are very helpful , not only checkin/out but also travelling information .

    Exceptional Service

    rating24 Feb 2025

Due to the Hotel's location in proximity to medical facilities and the Roma street train station, we booked a room. Being from out of town, we arrived around 6pm and was greeted by the friendliest reception lady I have ever come across. She was very helpful and accommodating with our needs. The rooms are small, but extremely clean and well kept. Great job to all the staff at Soho !!!
