  The place to stay in Kununurra

  We had a number of nights at this excellent hotel. Initially we were picked up from Kununurra airport on the complementary scuttle. After a very friendly welcome we checked into our comfortable room with double bed, kitchenette and shower room. The hotel is very well designed around a cool quadrangle lush with trees and plants with supporting facilities of a laundry, big kitchen and swimming pool. The hotel is opposite Coles facilitating food shopping. The hotel was kind enough to store kit whilst we were away on trek.The hotel is centrally located for shopping, visiting Kelly’s Knob or the Hidden Valley. Day trips to Lake Argyle are feasible.Thanks for making our stay in Kununurra so comfortable and memorable.

  Stayed 3 comfortable nights at motel. Modern clean room, air con and fan worked very well. Strong hot shower. Small kitchen area with bar fridge, microwave, kettle and plenty of crockery and cutlery. Very handy location, opposite Cole’s supermarket, 5 min walk to Hotel Kununurra and 5 min to Blak Tapas cafe. Easy walk to Mirima park and little Bungle Bungles. Felt safe and secure, the staff very helpful.

  The staff were very friendly and all too willing to help. First and only big pain, as there are no pickups from the airport after 6pm, the motel recommended Quick Collect service. They also advised us to book early, which we did. We got out of the little airport to find that the only car was already full of other passengers, so much for booking early. So we had to wait for the car to come back. When he did, it was a young man who let us know that his greatest aim was to leave Kunanurra as soon as possible. We said about the booking, and his response was welcome to Kunanurra. It was a 5 minute drive to our hotel, price? $40.00. Just highway robbery, no meter, no quote, just $40. My advice, use anybody else (there is a Kunanurra Taxi service, we found out later.The motel were just as surprised as we were.Otherwise, the rooms were basic but adequate, there were no places to hang clothes so the clothes tended to be spread around the room. Shower was hot with a good flow of water. There is a good sized pool and a large communal kitchen. The motel is in the middle of town with good access to all shops and amenities. The manager did drive us back to the airport at no charge and was really lovely.   We stayed at the Kimberley Croc Motel for 4 nights. Shiree who greeted us on our arrival was wonderful. She informed us on different tours and was able to book them for us. The beds were comfortable and the room was supplied with everything you needed. They had a kitchen for the guests to use which was fully equipped.   Horrible. Do not stay here.

  This place is an absolute disgrace. Where to begin. The rooms are about 30 years past their used by date, all old and decrepit. The curtains in the room are a thin white material, with bright Fluro lights right outside the door, so all night the room is lit up like daylight which makes for a terrible night sleep. The walls are paper thin, soo prepare for bulk snoring and alarms on both sides. Its all a key system, so after 7pm you need to unlock the padlock on the main gates then let yourself in, then try find a park in the overcrowded car park and usually just make one as its full, then let yourself through the internal gate, then finally turn another key to get into your room. It may be securely but clearly they have never heard of swipe cards or automatic gates. Once your in then then you find all the rooms are wrapped around the courtyard, so you always have the lovely smell of vapes and cigarettes wafting into your room. The you can enjoy the comforts of your room - an aircon that hardly works, blankets for the bed covered in long dark hairs, broken and dirty furniture and fittings. And if that wasn't enough, then one night you might even be lucky enough to walk around the big pile of spew on the pathway, curtesy of one of the lovely patrons of the motel.This is by far the worst "Motel" I have stayed at in years, anywhere around the world. I have had $10/night rooms in Vegas that were cleaner than nicer than this, mud huts in Africa that were nicer. It a complete shame to all involved in running the place. Do not stay here!
