    Great location, Horrible stay!

    Turned up and had not been given check in details. Took 4 calls and 30mins to get back to me with the code to access the booking. Went to have a shower in the evening and realised that we had no towels. After calling, emailing, messaging for 2 hours we had to go and buy extremely overpriced beach towels from a souvenir shop so we could shower before bed. As soon as my wife got in the shower it overflowed because the drain was clogged up with hair and god knows what else. The property manager contacted us at 9:40 the next morning about the towels and just ignored the disgusting hair clogged drain. We finally got the towels and were given access to the spa on site. We were never going in the spa after seeing the filthy shower.

    We stay at here in the Grand Suite for four nights. The apartment was spacious, well quipped and the jacuzzi on the deck, although not used by us, appeared to be very clean. The Lodge is only a few minutes walk from the famous ‘Solar Railway’, the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. The only negative was the complete absence of house keeping, despite being advertised as being ‘limited’ which meant that we had no change of towels or bins emptied.

    Cockroaches! That would have said it all to me had I known. The place was well developed for vacation rental, each of our two bedrooms had an onsuite bathroom, but dodging roaches at night is grosse. That makes sense if you see how horribly they clean this nice place in my pictures. Stay away!!

    We paid for the garden suite which was really well decorated and the space was used really well, however we were a little disappointed that the garden was actually the entrance to the property and right on the main road. Sitting out there would have meant other guests walking right past you so not quite what we expected.Everything was really clean and the location of the apartments were great for the town centre, however with the room being on the main road it was a little noisy.

    Booked via Booking.com & it’s misleading description for 4 night wedding & mini break. Positives- comfy bed, secure access & Nick (Manager at the time) was friendly and helpful but could not do much as all booked up. Room was clean though. Negatives - description/photos did not match, room was tiny, had to sit in bed to eat, converse, no luggage rack, desk or chair. We could not move/pass each other around bed at same time, kitchenette located behind room door, no drying rack, bathroom had a raised doorway (trip hazard & I broke my toe on it), no place for toiletries, NO wifi for entire stay & no outdoor space at all & not much soundproofing! NO off street parking (unless in a Suite), paid parking out front 9am-6pm ($5 p/hr), told free parking a block up but was pouring rain & car was in muddy lake. So, only book an upgraded room at this place. Check description carefully, sure it will change in booking sites. We left early, refunded a nights accom as we chose not to stay but no compensation for very ordinary room.
