  Incredible place!! Everything you want and need they have thought of. Stunning walks, private beach access, main pool and adults pool with swim up bar and spa, endless access to free towels all over the resort and the food is fantastic. One of the most noteworthy, the staff have all been incredibly helpful and kind. The room service and cleaning services were fantastic and fix any issue we had immediately without disruption. We had a fantastic time and wish we had more time here to enjoy more of the restore, especially for the comparatively low cost of the stay.

  Two singles does not make a king

  We were very excited for our trip for our anniversary but unfortunately when we got to our room we found out we were given a room with two single beds. On contacting the front desk we were told this was the room we had booked - when I told them I could show them the email stating our room had a ‘comfy king sized bed’ we were told housekeeping would come and just move the two single beds together (which I note does not make a king bed!). We were then told this was standard for the type of room we had booked. Only after reiterating that this was not what we had booked were we then begrudgingly moved to another room that had a king sized bed. No apology given. Other than this our stay was fine.

  Missing a beat

  We recently stayed at Elements of Byron for a baby moon and, overall, had a lovely stay with some wonderful highlights, although there were also a few service issues that unfortunately took away from what could have been an exceptional experience.Our first impressions were fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the bag collection and welcome were warm and efficient, and the reception experience was positive. Our room was ready when we arrived, which was a great start, and we were especially touched by the personalised note waiting in our room wishing us well for our baby moon. It was a thoughtful touch that made us feel genuinely welcomed. The room was lovely and spacious with a very large bath and shower. Would have been nice though if the AC had a remote to adjust the temperature from the bed, instead of a panel on the wall.There were also some standout experiences during our stay. The Mexican food at the adults only pool was delicious, and the staff at the spa were fantastic. The massage was a highlight, and the spa team were friendly, professional and made us feel very well looked after. The live music was also a nice treat to finish the night off next to the fire pit and enjoy a cocktail.Unfortunately, the hospitality service across the resort was where we felt the experience really fell short. Over four days, not once did any of our food or drinks arrive at the correct table. This happened at the adults pool, the fire pit, the main pool and even at the Italian restaurant. The tables are numbered, so it was particularly surprising that this happened so consistently. Eventually, it became a running joke between us that anything we ordered would inevitably be delivered to another table first, and we would have to go searching for our food or drinks. Some of the orders were even brought out incorrectly and since you have to order via their app (which constantly crashed) there was no evidence on your side of the order you had put in.Table clearing was another issue. There were constantly tables left with half eaten food, which attracted birds and made the pool and dining areas feel less relaxing than they should have. At one point, I actually moved our finished food to the bar myself to help clear the table, only for it to be left there while magpies jumped up and started eating it. For a luxury resort, this really didn't create the relaxed atmosphere you would expect.We also had an issue with the TV in our room when we checked in. We mentioned it to reception, but the initial response was quite condescending, with us being told to simply switch it off and on again. We had to explain three times that we were already aware of how to do this, but the power connection was located inside a locked drawer. Only then was someone sent to fix it. The issue was eventually resolved, but the initial interaction left us feeling unnecessarily dismissed.Elements of Byron is a beautiful property with some genuinely great experiences and lovely touches. The arrival experience, personalised baby moon welcome, Mexican food and spa team were all memorable positives. The added bonus of the train being within walking distance of the hotel was also appreciated for a quick trip into Byron. However, the consistency of the hospitality service and attention to detail did not match the standard we expected from the resort. With better staff training around table service, clearing and guest interactions, there is a real opportunity to make the overall experience live up to the beautiful setting.
