  Cheapest of the local options for a reason

  Just after a bed for this solo trip and thats about all I got.The reception area looked like a scene from Steptoe & Son with all the detritus scattered around and should have given me a clue. Receptionist was pleasant, not too sure about the bloke slothed behind her with his head stuck in his phone though.....Having had to drop my shoulder in to open the room door(swollen after recent rains) things didn't start well.Main bedroom light didn't work as with one of the bedside lamps.The remote wouldn't turn the "idiot box" on but all the other buttons worked once you used the switch at the back of the TV.WiFi Internet(despite offering two options) was weak and intermittent.I like a hot shower. You didn't even bother turning on the cold tap here. Mornings the temperature was acceptable but not hot.Had one shower mid afternoon and the temperature was approaching what I like so many their "system" doesn't cope with the morning rush hour?Overall basic accomodation a "lobster" cheaper than the nearby similar options.You won't get the room serviced unless your hang the sign on the doorknob when you got out for the day.I'm sure some of these items could/would have been fixed if I'd mentioned it but I had neither the time nor inclination mostly leaving and returning each day outside of reception times.Of the 6 places I've stayed on my visits to Port, this was the worst, and despite my "agricultural" attitude to accomodation I won't be back.

  Older Style Motel, clean and comfortable, Great Location. Poor internet speed. Overall, good value.

  Stayed three nights and apart from the internet speed being too slow to be of any use, which was very annoying, this motel is good value. Older style, but very clean, fast easy check in, quiet , and excellent location. There was no tea towel or dish washing liquid which should have been supplied, but fortunately we carry a travel kit at all times for just such omissions. My rating would have been a notch higher if the internet had been fast enough to be of use. The bed was firm, but comfortable and the air conditioning worked really well.

  Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, for the price we paid I would not expect to find blood stains on sheets where my child was ment to sleep, stained towels, rubbish left in the room from previous people, and a dirty showerI do not recommend this place to anyone

  Shower didn work because I asked for another room till they fixed the shower, they would not extend my stay.Am 68 housing booked it for me.Without knowing how you are frowned on by motel owners.So I either accept how they treated me, I could not have shower 2 days.They told housing I did something else, they didn't tell them the truth, they believed the motel owner, not me.I was told by the cleaner its not a 5 star motel or the Ritz. Their attitude 😒 was non chalant couldn't care lessCockroaches near bed I killed large 1 left it by the bed so they can see.Am sure housing does not know this.I would not even give them 1 star.Run by Asian family, fowl odor from pipes bathroom tooIt's not housing fault they just don't know how you are treated if you are a housing person. No one complains because they are afraid. Housing is paying them good money I just came out of an accident truck hit me was still recovering. I didn't need to be treated like this.

  Budget Friendly & Met Our Requirements

  EXCELSIOR MOTOR INNWe selected Excelsior Motor Inn, as it suited our budget, only within 2 km (10-minute-walk) from the centre of Port Macquarie, free parking… although parking area is small and we were only there for an overnight stay. The staff members were friendly and helpful. Our motel room was very clean, has all the necessities you need (body wash and shampoo dispensers in the shower; refrigerator; coffee/tea condiments; kettle; microwave; air conditioner; tele; free wi-fi etc). It was a place to rest and continue on with our travels, which met our requirements, for what we needed it for. I made sure that it was walking distance to town, to refuel on food and drinks and take in their breathtaking views of their waterfront – in fact, we saw a bit of dolphin action. Lots of beautiful cafés and restaurants to choose to dine at. Oh… highly recommend breakfast at the Pancake Place (approximately 7 minute-walk or if you’re lucky enough to find parking 2 minute-drive) – love their art décor, the food was delicious and plentiful and perfect start to continue on with our travels.
