Location

This hotel is located on Holloways beach, just a few minutes north of Cairns city. It is a few metres from the golden sand and warm tropical water, as well as from cafés, links to the public transport network, restaurants and shopping facilities. The location of the resort provides easy access to the city. Cairns Airport is only 7 km away.

Facility

73 apartments are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service. Wireless internet access (for a fee) is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Everyday necessities can be purchased at the supermarket. The grounds of the apartment hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services include a car hire service, a transfer service, room service (for a fee) and a laundry service. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Air conditioning, central heating and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms.     10-10-25 We stayed here for a wedding up the road but wish we just got an Uber ride from city centre. At first appearance the place was nice and friendly staff. We got to our room and thought it wasn’t too bad. Once we started looking, the fridge was dirty, the plates were dirty as well as the cutlery had all old food stuck to them and stains. The TV inputs would not work, the TV remote had all of the numbers etc rubbed off so you didn’t know what button to press. The room was dirty and had broken table and burn marks on cushion on the bed. The pool and bbq area was cleaner than our room. There are no lifts so you have to drag your bags up 5 flights of stairs if staying on top floor. The A/C rattled all night in the bedroom and bed was very hard not comfortable at all. For $340 per night I would expect more, we ended up at Crystalbrook Flynn’s absolutely gorgeous for much cheaper rate per night. Only good thing was pool and location to cafe across the road.

    Cairns Beach resort is a try hidden paradise, away from other sites, peaceful , conveniently located near the beach and close to Cairns and grounds and gardens beautifully maintained. Lovely pool area with BBQ facility. Has ample parking

    Beware, this hotel is not what it appears. It is really not a resort it is more of a long term rental. Holloway Beach is not Cairns, it is at least a 20 minute drive to anything to do with Cairns. And there is virtually nothing to do in Holloway Beach, one tiny cafe and a very small pizza place. The beach is closed. This resort is old and tired, reception closes at 5pm, the place is kind of spooky.

    I can’t believe the five star reviews this place gets from some. They must have had a far better room than we were given. We were so disappointed with our accommodation. Agree grounds and pool are lovely. Agree location is great. But that’s where it ended for us. Booked a superior apartment. Thought we would get a top apartment. ( and if not aware the place has stairs only no lifts.) It was not cleaned properly, room was dirty, chipped furniture, bed as hard as rocks, fridge needed a clean, outdated, so need of an upgrade to be of standard I’d expect of a superior room in a place advertised as a resort. Wifi, woeful. Seriously this is so sub standard in today’s world. Visitors want access to technology in their apartment.Best thing about the place was the cafe/restaurant across the road. So think twice if this is a consideration for you. Ask the staff if you can see the room first, or check it out. Can only report on our experience. The reviews are a mixture of good and not so good, so maybe there are better rooms. Good luck! Cairns and surrounds is a fabulous place for a holiday, when it’s not raining!

    The perfect gem on the beach of northern Queensland

    We have been staying at this resort for a number of years and seen 3 turnovers of management in those years but this time was our best time ever. The gardens look better than ever. For us there is no better place around Cairns than this. OK, the internet connection in the units is not up to scratch but you just go to reception, there is a bench outside where the connection is just fine, or anywhere around the fabulous pool as well. The current managers are the best ever. Josh and Ruby will do antyhing to make you welcome and to make your stay a very pleasant one. Ruby is obviously very experienced in the hospitality industry and Josh, always friendly and helpful, is an incredibly hard worker. I have been an employer before I retired, but if I had had employees like Josh and Ruby, I would makr sure they would never have a good reason to leave or change employment. The gardens look better than ever, the maintenance programme is second to none. On the day we left all the gutters, rusty and overflowing, were being replaced. I hope my review is not a trigger to increase their unit prices, but we will definitely come back at least once a year and we hope that these two managers will be there to welcome us for many years to come.?Ruby and Josh, you are real gems and the perfect example of managers who love their work, who are totally committed serving their guests.
