Location

The resort is centrally located, yet in a quiet area of Port Douglas and within walking distance of the centre and all its amenities. The picturesque Four Mile Beach with its swaying coconut palm trees is also just a short walk away.

The hotel has a lift and features 60 rooms. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden.     A bit of a mixed start to this review as initially we had an awful experience but credit to the team as they rectified the issues we had immediately but for fairness I will show the bad as well as the good. Overall though, this was our BEST stay in the whole of Australia and we stayed at many places during our two weeks there and we would definitely return. The team were so helpful and friendly.So, the bad: the hotel was informed that this was our honeymoon and they were also made aware of our estimated arrival time. However, when we arrived we were told that reception would be closed and that the key to our apartment would be in an envelope attached to the reception door, which it was, with very poor instructions on finding the room.We realised that shockingly our room was on the upper floor with no lift and with two suitcases weighing 23kg each this was an absolute nightmare!After hauling our cases by ourselves (as no-one was around) we discovered what had to be the room from hell, no joke, see the photos below.The apartment was extremely dated and of very poor repair and was filthy including the bathroom, sofa, floor and bed sheets! There was no way we were going to stay. So after contacting the amazing Trailfinders back in the UK, they contacted the staff at the hotel who immediately apologised and offered us a ground floor room that couldn't have been more of a contrast. It was newly renovated, clean, fresh and of a very high standard. (why didn't they offer us this in the first place??) They gave us a bottle of fizz by way of an apology which was very kind of them too.The apartment had a washing machine, tumble dryer and was next to the outside pool and Jacuzzi . All necessary appliances were provided and even a very handy clothes horse for drying wet clothes. A/C was brilliant. A communal outdoor kitchen with electric BBQ and fridge was also available. The outdoors had lovely trees and plants and felt very tropical rainforest. Reception also kindly let us have a late check out with no charge and we could use all the facilities too which was soon helpful.The location of this hotel was brilliant, just a short walk to the beach and nearby town.We can't wait to return to this hotel and it's lovely staff and we would like to thank you for an awesome stay!

    Location was really good. The rest - the room was riddled with dust and cobwebs !! By the time I left I was covered in dust mites !!

    Had a Fantastic stay and nothing was any trouble as I have trouble carrying luggage they wouldn't let me or the wife carry the luggage

    Location was great. It was a lovely walk into town. Our room was perfect for us. Comfortable, clean and everything we needed for our short stay. The staff were very friendly and they went out of their way to help us with everything. Great value for our money.

    Good location about 1k from the centre . Hotel was functional. Room needed a bit of renovation. Eg the fridge door had rust on it and ice box door was missing. We were on the 2nd level so had to cart our own suitcases up . Has a good laundry room (2 nr) which was really helpful. Lady in reception was very helpful. Shame they make you pay for beach towels. Was a comfortable stay
