Facility

Guests have a choice of 173 non-smoking rooms located in two 7-storey buildings with lifts. The reception desk is open round the clock. Services such as a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access in public areas (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning. A balcony or terrace is among the standard features in the rooms. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and a telephone are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms.

Sport

Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool area. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking, fishing and horse riding are available. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy canoeing, snorkelling and diving. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym and bowling. A wellness area with a solarium is available to guests. For a fee, massage treatments are also offered. Activity coordinators organise an entertainment programme for adults and children.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a café and a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    Great little family roomDouble room, bed super comfy. Beautiful views from balcony. Room was clean tidy and very accommodating.Highly recommend getting the buffet breakfast included. Delicious options and plenty of food options for adults and littles. The restaurant/bar was also very good for afternoons by the pool, cocktails were average $15-20 per drink. Location is a 1.5-2km walk to main esplanade front. Downfall could hear planes every now and again.

    We held a workshop at Cairns Harbourside and also stayed in their lovely rooms - complete with morning sunrise views over the Esplanade and water! The catering for our function was top-notch, service exceptional and rooms were much larger than expected. I was very impressed with it being a perfect blend of business and leisure (bleisure).

    Our stay at Cairns Harbourside Hotel was quite disappointing. The location is far from the city centre, which made it inconvenient to access restaurants, shops, and the main attractions. We didn’t realize how isolated it would feel compared to staying in the CBD area.The hotel facilities were very limited and did not meet our expectations. The rooms were average at best, and unfortunately, the staff wasn’t particularly warm or welcoming, which further impacted the overall experience.The most disappointing part was the breakfast. The options were extremely limited, and the quality of food was below standard. It definitely did not justify the price or expectations of a comfortable stay.Overall, we would strongly recommend choosing a better property in the Cairns CBD area where you’ll have better accessibility, amenities, and overall hospitality.     Staff and housekeeping were great! The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious with a great view. It is a bit dated and the breakfast buffet was not the best. Eat in town for a better meal. This is not centrally located so we had to get transportation many times.     Quiet, Spacious, and Perfectly Located on the Esplanade

    We spent five nights at the Harbourside before starting a tour. Having stayed in Cairns previously, I chose this hotel because it offers a quieter atmosphere away from the noisy "heart" of the action, while still being an easy, scenic walk into the center of town along the Esplanade parkland.The Room: Our room was very spacious and well-equipped with a safe, refrigerator, and a large bathroom. We had a sea-view rooms, which from the 12th floor gave a spectacular view of Trinity Inlet. Housekeeping was offered daily, and everything was kept very clean.Pool: A nice area with towels readily available.Breakfast: A great buffet selection with a good variety of both hot and cold items.Evening Bar: They offer a variety of "bar foods," which was perfect for the nights we didn't feel like heading out to a restaurant.Service: The front desk staff were a standout—very friendly, professional, and they took the extra time to help us book several excursions.Verdict: A wonderful choice for those who want a peaceful stay with easy access to the city.
