  Booking for 4 beds , management agreed, we arrived to 3 beds, we asked for 4 blankets and got 3. The restaurant was a disaster, we chose from the new menu , butter chicken and lamb curry, only to be told we don't have either. We ordered fish and chips, 2 battered and 1 crumbed, we got 1 battered and 2 crumbed, one of the group ordered Calamari and was given small spring rolls , when the Calamari arrive it was 5 rings which were over cooked , no chips or salad . We were not offered drinks,when we asked for water we were given a jug of warm water . Not a good experience , better off going to the pub down the road

  We were very disappointed in our stay. there were limited choices available in town due to the road being closed due to flooding so we got what was left; a family room. room was clean upon entering but had a strong chemical smell. We were by the pool but that was an eye sore as it was not functioning and looked murky. we noticed quickly how little sound proofing there was in the room. We could easily hear neighbours especially when they were outside their room and music from restaurant nearby was loud and thumping. The music did stop quite early though so that was ok. The major problem we had was we had a situation with what i think were ghost ants (after trying to identify them from internet ). i was laying in the bed reading and said to my husband i felt like something was crawling on me. i soon after noticed this very small bug crawling on my arm. i freaked out and inspected the bed to find two more on top of the bottom sheet. i wanted to leave and go elsewhere but we had taken a sleeping pill. There was no infroamtion in room of who to call if there was a problem (didn’t have an information sheet that is usually found in motel rooms of how to contact someone) i went to the bottle shop which is where we checked in but it was closed. i ended sleeping in one of the other twin beds in room and did not see any more bugs but i didn’t sleep well and felt anxious about it. The next morning my husband also found a roach in the bathroom. i reached out to the motel and explained our situation via email but was told it was too late as i needed to get someone to help to resolve the issue at the time ( i had tried to do this unsuccessfully). they did apologize and offered us to come back to stay again for a complimentary stay but would not refund any portion of the room for our troubles. We were just passing through so no way to take them up on offer but i would not want to stay again anyway after our experience here. My advice is try a different place in Cardwell

  Great place to stop for an overnighter. The Family room was just want we were after. Clean and comfortable. Would stay here again the check in was easy and welcoming. Cardwell is a beautiful place with plenty of places to eat, refuel, walk along the beach.

  Okay we have stayed for a 2 night stay. The motel unit ticks all the boxes. It's neat and tidy, overlooking the pool. No question there. I might sound picky, however we dined at the in house Thai/ Western restaurant. The level of service and their inability to work as a team left be me bemused. The man charged with being the face of the property promptly blamed the staff level's on it's inability to read the order correctly. Two of the adults received our main courses only to find the third not only the wrong main but late too boot. It was an easy fix. The face of the property was not prepared to venture out from behind the Bar and question how everything was. There were 3 in the kitchen plus bar. Will I venture back tomorrow night. Afraid not.

  Good place to stop and eat but dont fall off the high chairs!

  Well situated just across the road from the beach. The rooms were Basic but clean with excellent parking. Big problem was the breakfast table chairs were stupidly to high at least 150mm cutting off, also only one bedside table and only one arm chair but there was space for extra! Dave who ran the place was very good and had a restaurant and a bottle shop adjoining. I must say the meals were excellent and competitively priced. Each room had a table and 2 chairs on a tiled area out side the room the tiles looked as though they hadn’t been cleaned for a while with obvious stains like coffee on them.
