  Kudos to whoever designed the rooms—very modern and upscale. Crisp bedding, big TV with free movies, cozy lighting options, spotlessly clean. The view from my 8th floor patio was gorgeous. The hotel is literally steps away from the night market and just two blocks from a grocery store and coin laundry. I didn’t get to try the hotel breakfast because there were so many food options nearby. One downside: The only fridge is a mini-bar which you’ll get charged for opening. If you need to keep something cold, request a bucket of ice on the in-room iPad or ask the front desk.   It's Ok, but not the Crystalbrook we are used to

  We have stayed at many properties in Cairns as it was our go to destination during the pandemic. We always said, when we returned that we would stay at Flynn because it looked amazing, but unfortunately it really didn't live up to the expected hype.The property is two towers, one of which was located on the esplanade. We thought booking a Harbour View room we would end up right on the esplanade, but we were in the tower behind - with the only access to ground floor being via the stairs. We were not impressed with that, as we would have preferred direct esplanade access. We did have a Harbour View, if you looked beyond but our downward view was of a car park, dirty old buildings etc. It wasn't a great first impression. The room itself is nice, but the bathroom is really designed quite poorly. The shower leaks into the bathroom sink area meaning it always felt wet & damp. There were just 2 towels provided and 1 floor mat, no hand towels or anything else, a disaster really because it meant that you were having to either ration the shower or ration the towels at some point. We thought for a luxury property, and having stayed at other Crystalbrook properties this was pretty poor, not too mention every time you went into the bathroom you everything felt damp because of the water coming out of the shower. Bed was comfortable as were the pillows, but the bathroom was really a let down for us. For context, we also stayed at another property on this trip & rated the other much higher, despite it being a significantly older property. We didn't encounter any staff really, so I can't speak for their service level. What I will say is it really is a design flaw that the foyer is a set of stairs & a very tiny accessible lift. Everyone arriving would have luggage, so stairs really isn't the best option. Would we stay again, probably not. We found the Bailey to be a far better property and value for money.   Excellent understate luxury hotel

  Stayed at the Flynn for four days and found this hotel to be an excellent choice.All the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly, knowledgeable about Cairns and its promise. Centrally located within level short walking distance to shops, restaurants, The Esplanade, Museum, Aquarium and library. Our room was spacious and airy, with a large balcony with an ocean view. Our bathroom was well appointed and clean with the normal assortment of toiletries. There was plenty or storage space and the bed was large and comfortable.The buffet breakfast was a standout and the staff there, in particular Jess, who was an absolute gem, friendly happy and welcoming, greeting us each day with a smile and a welcome, .Alessandro was also lovely and helpful; Front of house staff, in particular Ricardo, were very professional and assisted us greatly.We would love to return and experience this fine establishment again Tom Nozawa, Guest Services / Front Office at Crystalbrook Flynn, responded to this review Thank you griz943 for your wonderful feedback!   Crystalbrook Flynn Also Ticks All The Boxes!!!

  What can I say but top quality! All the Crystalbrooks seem this way. Although Crystalbrook Riley did seem to have slightly better service and amenities, everything else such as the location, atmosphere, and the rooms was outstanding at Crystalbrook Flynn. The modern design paired with the ocean views made the stay feel effortlessly luxurious. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe was relaxed yet refined. It’s clear that Crystalbrook Flynn holds its own within the group, and I’d happily stay again next time I’m in Cairns. My room was clean, and the noise level was pretty quiet, even though there were plenty of people staying there.
