    Quaint Beachfront

    rating13 Oct 2023

Perfect location across from the beach and next-door to Ten 06 restaurant. Quick access to the beach across the street and a pool in the courtyard. Close to a variety of attractions. Marina around the corner to go deep-sea fishing. Kuranda Village within 30 minutes from here. Barren Falls, stoney Creek, Cairns just 20 minutes away, wallabies nearby, and surrounded by sugarcane fields.

    Beautiful Apartment

    rating20 Apr 2019

We spent nearly 2 weeks in apartment M2 which is a ground floor apartment. The apartment is huge, it had a bedroom with 1 double bed and the other bedroom having 3 single beds. There is also a bathroom with a shower cubicle and a bathroom with a bath. Fully equipped kitchen and utensils and there is also a laundry room with washer and tumble dryer. The balcony overlooks the swimming pool and this apartment is the only one to have its own gate access to the pool, the other apartments have to use the communal gate. This makes it a bonus where you can sit on your balcony having a nice glass of wine watching others in your family swim. A garage is also available with the apartment which we found useful. The apartment throughout is extremely clean and well maintained. There are fans in every room and air conditioning in every room. We didn’t use the Air con much as the fans were doing a great job and a few windows open. Its a quiet place to stay and we never heard any noise from anyone whilst we were there. The apartments are Located on the main strip facing the beach and we found it the perfect spot for waking up to hear waves crashing and quick access to the.beach. Although its still stinger season so its not safe to swim outside an area thats not patrolled by lifeguards and stinger nets. You can walk on the beach though. Every beach in this area is the same with Stinger nets not just Yorkies Knob. Next door there is a Coffee shop who also stocks bits and bobs like milk etc. A bus stop is located across from the apartments with buses running frequently. Just around the corner is a small shopping complex with a couple of take aways, post office, Bottle shop with great prices and small supermarket. Coming into Yorkies there is a fuel station and Cairns isn’t too far away. If there is any problems the property manager Lauren is only a phone call or text away and she aims to resolve any issues. The office is only round the corner too. We like Yorkies as its nice and relaxed, we also have family living in the area. The owners and property management company really have thought of everything to help you have a comfortable hassle free stay. We will definitely book this apartment for our next trip.

    Clean room without safe

    rating14 Jan 2018

The service apartment was quite far away from downtown Cairns. We had to go to the small community center of Yorkeys Knob to buy groceries and had meals. We had to order Uber or taxi when going to Downtown of Cairns for activities. There was no safe to store valuables in the service apartment.

    Great Promise, Needs Active Managmenmt

    rating01 Jan 2018

Positive: Amazing location across the street from a beautiful mile of impeccable white sandy beach complete with lifeguard and recently upgraded public facilities. The condo building has recently been repainted and the inside paint looked fresh as well. The village of Yorkeys Knob has some basic services and is only 15 minutes from Cairns but feels hours away from any hustle and bustle. Negative: The apartment cabinets and fixtures were a bit shabby and dated. Bedding and towels were of mediocre quality with thin mattresses. One of three AC units seemed to work well, the others struggled to keep up with the heat. Most importantly, there seemed to be no management presence. According to the neighbors the building has changed hands several times. Our arrival seems to have fallen through the cracks--there were keys left in the lockbox but the only reason I was able to get them was because I knocked on the door of one of the neighbors and they guessed at the code--fortunately they were right or we would have spent the night in the car--repeated calls to the two mobile numbers went completely unanswered. Later on in the stay I did manage to reach someone by email about the Wifi password--one person responded with a correct code the other said to "check the router" (it wasn't even in the apt--so sorry). Anyway, our stay was successful but only IN SPITE of, not because of the management. In summary I would highly recommend the village of Yorkeys Knob, but I would seek another booking next time. With a dedicated and consistent manager this property could be a real gem, but I would steer clear for the time being.

    Perfect spot for a family

    rating21 Feb 2016

We rented a 2 BR / 2 BA apartment here. Trish, the manager, was very helpful and accommodating. We have 3 children, and she was able to outfit the 2nd bedroom with 3 single beds, so none of the kids had to share. The apartment was spacious and allowed us room to spread out. The covered outdoor dining area/patio overlooked the beach and was great. We dined out most nights. The kitchen was well equipped. The beach directly across from the apartments is netted during jellyfish season and had a lifeguard on duty in the daytime. The ocean was soooo warm in early December - like a bathtub. The waves were rolling in but the break is gentle and the beach is quite shallow there and the 10 year olds spent hours "catching" the waves and riding them in body-surfing style. The neighborhood is quiet, which we liked. There is a convenience store next door. Take-away is a short drive away (< 5 minutes).Everything was clean.Trish helped us arrange 2 outings to the Great Barrier Reef. Our **only** complaint was that the labels above the dials on the stove and dishwasher had rubbed off so we had to guess as to the functions. :)
