Location

The hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of the award-winning esplanade, the Reef Fleet terminal, Reef Casino, shopping and restaurant precincts, as well the train and bus station. Cairns International airport is only 7 km away.

Facility

The resort has 6 lifts and features 314 rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Services such as a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Rooms

    Firstly shocked to discover that there is no intercom system in the room. Needed to go down to the front desk for every small thing. To top it all off the room had an archaic split a/c that wouldn't cool the room. On flagging the same, was told they can't do anything till next day as they are fully booked for a conference. Sitting up since 2:30am and typing this at 4am as we are unable to sleep in this warm and stuffy room that we paid for! PS : Even one of the chairs in the room is stained which shows the poor level of maintenance at the property!

    We had a very disappointing experience with Novotel. From the beginning, we tried to work with the hotel in good faith and were clear that we were happy to remove our review once a genuine solution was provided. Instead, we felt pressured to delete our feedback before any proper assistance was offered. Our review was then removed through TripAdvisor, apparently without our consent, and after that the hotel stopped responding to our requests for rebooking help.What makes this worse is that we were repeatedly told a solution would be provided, but once the review issue was resolved from their side, communication simply stopped. We are now left with significant financial loss, wasted time, and a great deal of stress and frustration.This has not been handled in an ethical, professional, or customer-focused way. For a large and reputable hotel group, we expected far better treatment and far more accountability. Based on this experience, we would not feel confident recommending them. All travel routes remained open, Cairns was not within any warning zone, and the cyclone had passed the region well before your intended arrival date. There were therefore no official restrictions or impediments preventing travel to the destination.Despite the booking conditions, our team remained in consistent communication with you and, as a gesture of goodwill, offered several alternative travel date options.     Hotel check in was very friendly and efficient. Room was very cold upon entry but clean and tidy. The pool is the highlight with a fabulous beach section for children and a swim up bar.     Clean, Comfortable and Hard-Working Staff

    The title says it all. The hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. What it lacks in pristine, updated, and extra amenities, the front desk and restaurant staff make up for in effort and helpfulness. Pool is lovely. The bar staff would benefit from a review of customer service skills (helpfulness, friendliness), but otherwise, we were comfortable and felt safe and well taken care of .
