Location

The hotel enjoys one of the best locations in Cairns; downtown on the waterfront, close to the seaport, city shopping, parklands and the Reef Casino. The famous Esplanade Precinct with art galleries, cinemas and other entertainment is nearby. It is also opposite the major departure points to the Great Barrier Reef. The train station is also in the vicinity of the hotel. Cairns Airport is just 8 km away.

Facility

40 single rooms and 176 double rooms are located on 11 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services include a babysitting service, room service (for a fee), a laundry service and a coin-operated laundry. A business centre with fax machine and projector is available. 6 conference rooms are available for lectures, presentations and meetings.

Rooms

Air conditioning ensures that rooms maintain just the right temperature. Guests can enjoy the view of the park from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed or a king-size bed. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available.     Great hotel with washing facilities, guest lounge with microwave and good in room coffee. We stayed in the disability friendly rooms which were well done and had plenty of wheelchair space. Only down fall was how loud the laundry carts were below the window.

    Great location, a minute walk from the harbor, and really close by to a lot of good restaurants and shops. Laundry machines and dryers are available for guest use which was very convenient.However, the hotel is a bit dated. The room was big but the layout was weird. Air condition is ok but can’t really configure the temperature. Bed and pillows were fairly ok. Shower was really bad- felt old, the shower head was old and small and very low, could barely wash my head under it. There was a bit of mold; the worst thing was it was impossible to set the water to the right temperature, it was always either too cold or too hot. All in all for me i felt it was a bit too pricey for the value.

    The Pacific Hotel is more of a 3-star hotel than anything, not higher, so it’s overrated on websites. The rooms are worn with windows and doors that do not seal, minimal and worn towels are provided, the restaurant breakfast in the lobby is not better than fair. We stayed there 2 times and felt the same each time. That said, staff were friendly and helpful.

    Fabulous hotel.Efficient staff, well decorated hotel. Good amenities, water, and ice available and dispenser machine.Rooms are well equipped, great shampoo and body water. Aurora tea and coffee was of good quality.There is a safe fridge in the room.Good A/C abd Wifi

    This is my second time staying here and it impressed again. Great rooms in mostly good condition - very large room with sitting area overlooking city and water, fast wifi, grounds in good shape, excellent location with everything in walking distance. Noise quite muted given how big a hotel this is. Sleep quality: 8/10
