    Don’t stay here.

    Had the miss fortune of staying (not) at Ibis Styles Eaglehawk (Canberra). 5 star reception, MINUS 5 star rooms. Sticky white stains on the carpet, mould all over the shower recess, stains and somebody else’s hair over the toilet. Complained to reception who showed little interest. Spent less than 4 hours here and left. I didn’t unpack, take my shoes off or touch the bed. Don’t stay here.

    Extremely Poor Stay – Rooms Unfit, No Management Support

    I rarely write reviews, but this stay really needs to be called out.We stayed at Ibis Styles Canberra Eaglehawk from 2–6 April 2026, and unfortunately, it was an extremely disappointing experience.We’ve stayed here around six times in the past (though not for many years), and the decline in the condition of the property is significant. The rooms are very run down and, in our experience, not fit for purpose.The first room we were given was in a terrible state — filthy, mould present in both the bathroom and room, bins heavily rusted, curtains falling off their hooks, and no working air conditioning. There was also clear rising damp, which caused my son to have a severe allergic reaction. Due to the Easter period, we couldn’t find alternative accommodation and had no choice but to stay.We were moved to a second room after the first night. While slightly better, it still had multiple issues — mould, rust, broken fixtures (toilet seat and shower tap), a loose fitting on the floor that caused a foot injury, non-working air conditioning, poor cleanliness, and no functioning Wi-Fi. Noise between rooms was constant from early morning until late at night — kids screaming, adults yelling, banging, and clanging. It was so loud it felt like it was happening inside our room! I even sent sound recordings by email to complaints because it was that extreme.Staff were polite, but there was no real effort to resolve anything. We were told a manager would contact us, but that never happened. We were not offered a refund — only the suggestion of a discount — which never eventuated because no one onsite was authorised to approve anything, and the manager was never available.Overall, this was a very poor experience, especially given the impact on my son’s health. I would not stay here again, and I would not recommend it in its current condition.

    Maintenance of rooms needs upgrading. Booking saig buffet breakfast but not available. Restaurant not open as advertised. Clean room and comfy bed but too far out of town to save money. Disappointed.

    Nothing special just your average accommodation grounds were neat and tidy. Water pressure was lacking in the apartment. I stayed in but it was clean.

    Everything is old and tired. The fan in the bathroom was so noisy that you couldn’t leave it on. You need to “order” your room be serviced by 0900, but they don’t tell you that and check-in. So we put the “come in, we’re out” sign (weird sign if you ask me) expecting the room to be serviced. , and came home to no room serviced. The restaurant was less than average. You stand at the “wait to be seated” sign, only to be told to read the menu at the counter and then let him know what you want. Can’t even take it to the table. Overall, very unimpressed for an ibis styles hotel
