    Not as good as the last time

    We love staying here, the staff are very friendly, the rooms are spacious and the bed is very comfortable. I did mention to the lovely girl on reception when we checked out, that on our next stay we’d definitely appreciate a different room however! This time we were in room 1013, which is right on the side of the building that is on the edge of a very busy roundabout.The noise from speeding cars and motorbikes was overwhelming at times, although in the middle of the night it was quiet the traffic started up again at around 6am. Also, the people staying in the room above us had children with them, and at 9.30/10.00 at night it sounded like a herd of baby elephants!!They were running around and banging something on the floor, it was ridiculous. We actually saw them at breakfast and realised from the way the kids were acting who they were and how badly behaved they are!!Next time we will request a room on the top floor at the back. While the breakfast was lovely, sadly the dinner was disappointing. We got the rump steak and the risotto. Risotto was lovely but unfortunately the steak was very tough and not cooked medium rare as requested, it was medium.We mentioned it to the waitress and she offered to have it replaced, but we are not happy about doing this as we don’t trust the process. Having worked for 25 years in hospitality, I know that chefs/cooks aren’t always impressed with having their work criticised. The waitress also suggested that it might have been better to order one of the other steaks as rump is often tough!! The hotel is in a great location and the suburb of Kingston is very close, with lots of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Also the windows need a good clean, they were thick with cobwebs, and the garden outside the room could be tidied up and made a bit more appealing.     Had an absolute amazing night at the Ramada. The bed was extremely comfortable, nice and quiet area and neat and tidy in the room.     Great location, close to Rail, Manuka and Kingston. Clean large rooms with comfortable beds and handy coffee pod machines.
