Location

The beach hotel is located in a popular recreational area which is known for the nature parks and offers an array of attractions for the entire family, from river cruises and deep-sea fishing, to golf and casual dining. The beach is roughly 15 minutes' walk away and Coffs Harbour Airport is approximately 50 km from the hotel.

Facility

236 non-smoking rooms are located on 7 storeys and can be reached by 3 lifts. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services include a 24-hour security service, a complimentary babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, room service, a laundry service and a hairdresser. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is among the standard features of some rooms. The rooms have a queen-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a desk are also available. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, tea/coffee station and oven.     Stayed at Mantra Ettalong Beach recently and unfortunately it was quite disappointing. We booked a two-bedroom room, but the rooms were very small and felt cramped. The photos on the website seem heavily edited/Photoshopped, because the reality was very different from what we expected.From the outside the building looks nice, but once you go inside the rooms and facilities are below average. It definitely doesn’t feel like a 4-star property, which was a let down, especially coming from the Mantra brand.Overall, the stay didn’t live up to the expectations set by the photos and rating.     Loud music. Not family friendly

    Went with a baby and my husband for two nights. Music was so loud from 8am to 11pm at night. We couldn’t sleep and we couldn’t put our baby to sleep either. Definitely not relaxing.     Great family friendly hotel - go for the pool

    Great family friendly hotel. You definitely go for the pool (we did) and it did not disappoint. The two bedroom suites are a good size for a family. We had three kids with us. Kitchen is small and basic, but the deck is enormous! Multiple zones for eating dinner and relaxing. Beach across the road has a beautiful boardwalk and is great for morning runs. There is a small park for little ones. I wouldn’t rush back to Ettalong as we didn’t love the beach and my kids need more surf. Would highly recommend for young families or families that are more beach cautious and want calmer waters. Staff were all lovely and super helpful. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Unfortunately many decided to close due to unusual rain while we were there. But looks like typically there is a fair bit of options and things to do.     Disappointing Anniversary Stay

    We booked a Deluxe Ocean View Suite at Mantra Ettalong Beach to celebrate our anniversary, and even called ahead to confirm we’d have a beautiful ocean view on a higher floor. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t match what was promised or paid for. Arriving at reception, we were told that the room we were meant to have is no longer available. The room we received was tired and dated, with two single beds pushed together instead of a king. The bathroom was disappointing, with mould in the shower and an old spa bath that was high and awkward to step into. Not a deluxe ocean view suite.The “ocean view” was more of a pool view on a lower level, where we could clearly hear conversations from the pool area, which made it feel far from private or special. Definitely not a room suited for a celebration.There was minimal acknowledgment of our anniversary, just drink vouchers for the club next door that didn’t cover basic drinks. Had we got the room we were promised, I would have rated much better. Overall, a disappointing stay that didn’t match the price or promises. We won’t stay here again.
