    Indoor 'heated' pool was definitely NOT heated! Absolutely freezing which was disappointing to small child and the main reason we booked here. The deer are fed twice daily at 9 and 5 - allegedly. The property really needs a major refurbished and work, health and safety overhaul. The trip hazards are numerous! You also need to bring your own pool towel as they dont want the room towels being used at the pool. The room we stayed in was large and at the back of the property so quiet.

    Dreadful. Very dirty and not cleaned even when room was serviced during the stay. Old and very poor bathroom, broken tiles, mould and dirty. Grounds unkept and dirty. Extremely disappointing stay. Only saving grace was a comfy bed. Any current positive reviews are wrong!

    I’d advise against staying here if not having pets. I booked through booking.com due to having the indoor pool and deer park. We arrived to find our room right against the road with extremely loud traffic noise. The entry to the driveway also has a very noisy grate which would have make sleep impossible. Into the room and it looks as though the carpets haven’t been cleaned in a long time. Stains all over it (including a relatively fresh milk stain that looks as though there was no attempt to clean it up) and a general air of uncleanliness that made me want to keep my shoes on. The room was VERY outdated with paint peeling and rotting door frames. One of the bedside tables was missing a handle, just to add to the whole atmosphere. The lovely putrid smell of the deer when you opened your door finished it off. I contacted the manager requesting a new room. I was told the noise ‘should settle down as people stay in for the night’ and the only room they could move me to was a king bed that I was expected to share with my young daughter. When told that it wouldn’t work due to my long day of driving the next day and needing sleep, I got a ‘sorry’ and that was the end of it. The manager didn’t show any sort of understanding which was quite new for me being in a country town. I ended up moving to another motel in the city centre that was the same price but a 100 times better with friendly staff. Booking. Com attempted to resolve this on my behalf however the manager absolutely refused any sort of compensation and then had the audacity to send me a request for feedback. Do yourself a favour, especially if you have young kids and book somewhere else.

    Price very good for a tired room. Very comfortable bed and very clean and fresh linen. Large room and bathroom wonderfull to spread out. Never had complementary breakfast before and it was absolutely planned to detail. The owners (staff) where very friendly and helpful.

    Spacious room, comfy king bed, clean linen, unusual decor and furnishings: glass tables make me nervous. Fridge had mouldy science experiment from spilt milk by a past occupant. No coffee maker as advertised. Bathroom tiles cracked from a sinking floor slab. Two hairdryers (one damaged) with last electrical tag date 2015 (shouldn’t they be tested annually?). Wasn’t game to use them.Indoor pool looks great in the promo pics but the tiles at entry door dangerously broken, interior walls covered in green & black mould. Pool was clean- water brisk 25deg. Mind the hand rail at shallow end!Mein host was very serious but generously provided a free continental breakfast with a range of options for toast, cereals, and fresh fruit salad. Sunny restaurant area facing east.Didn’t appear to be well patronised midweek so onsite parking was a breeze.Deer-feeding twice-daily a great activity for kids.Convenient location. Definitely budget. Query the TripAdvisor rating of #1 of 16 motels in town.
