Cold outside and inside

Absolutely freezing inside. Expected to walk in from the cold and enjoy the warmth but that was not possible. The room was nice but cold when we arrived. The a/c struggled to warm the room. The restaurant was also cold. Again not what we expected. No electric blankets sadly.The promised extra 10% discount to Rydges members was not automatically applied and we had to request it.The room was nice and clean and aside from the a/c the noise was minimal. The receptionist was very obliging.

Great Hotel, poor restaurant

Stayed a night, room was great bed was amazing, as was view. However the restaurant was below average for this hotel. Entree was tasty however overpriced for what we got. We both ordered steak for our main, mine was meant to be smaller but looked bigger. While cooked to med/rare had little flavor. The ribeye came with a bone which was cooked as ordered but was much smaller. Service, below average. Waitress tried but guy who took our order and payment needs a new job! No customer service at all.Def loved hotel but looking at how many pple staying an how many eating in restaurant thats the weak point.

Overrated and disappointing

Overrated and very disappointing We went as everyone goes to Bathurst if one has a Mustang. The highlight of our trip was going around the circuit. The room was fine. The shower over a bath was not what we expected and quite dangerous. The bathroom was tired and needed a lot of work. We could hear everyone’s toilet flushing during the night. The bed was so soft and the pillows were substandard as they were so soft they couldn’t be used. I’m sure there are those who would appreciate that but we weren’t one of them.I had no complaints with the staff as they were working with management that didn’t want to pay public holidays pricing though we had to.We intended to have dinner at the inhouse restaurant but no, it was closed as they had told staff not to come in. Not even room service was available. We went to breakfast the next morning and there was only one chef in kitchen and only one front of house. Breakfast was again not what we were expecting. I have had better in a chain restaurant in Europe. No fruit, minimal cereal. I’m not being overly critical as we had been to other hotels and restaurants around NSW prior to this visit. No complaints about any of them.The only decent experience we had was that parking was excellent

The room did not look like what is advertised on the website. No bedhead on the walls, just bed placed to wall. Upon returning home, the room shows on the website as the Conrod Suite is a newly converted boardroom set up for meetings. This would explain the massive round table with conference room chairs to sit at for breakfast or dinner. The shower did have marks etc, and in the bathroom as per the attached photos, there was a lot of dust.The beds were not comfortable and seemed quiet old in this room, it was like it was quickly converted back to a room for our stay/visit. All in all for $660 stay I was not overly impressed at all. Would i return, if it was to that room, no, as I feel a bit duped by the set up as opposed to what is shown on the website.

Fantastic base for the Bathurst 12 hours

Stayed here for 4 nights for the 12 hour race. fantastic view over the circuit by the chase from the balcony, only went into the circuit for about half an hour to buy a tshirt and a program. The room was super size, more than ample for a solo trip.Breakfast was included in the room rate, and the buffet was good and plentiful. I also ate dinner in the restaurant all 4 nights and really enjoyed the choice and quality. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and professional, I wish I had taken the name of the male member of staff who looked after me and dealt with one of their colleagues on my behalf when she became a bit of a jobsworth about not having a reservation on 14th Feb when I had already been shown to a table by the other person I refer to.Reception and checking in / out were helpful and easy, and called for a taxi for me when it was clear that my uber app wasn't going to produce a ride.Obviously, being an event weekend, room rates were much higher than would be the case when there is no racing, but as this was a one-off trip from the UK, well worth it. Not sure the hotel would be me choice for local exploration as it's a little out of the way for anything other than the circuit if you're carless.
