  Clean, budget accommodation

  We stayed here for a couple of nights because we were coming up for a funeral. I understand now that this establishment caters mainly for miners, which represents the bulk of their business. We were fortunate that they were able to accommodate us at a time just before a very large booking. Reading some of the othe reviews I'm grateful that our booking wasn't cancelled.We found the accommodation very clean, with everything we needed. Yes, it's not boutique accommodation, but our room had a proper kitchen, was spacious with a courtyard (although we weren't there during the day to use it) and the shower was also spacious and the hot water pressure was great as well. We were only there to sleep and eat breakfast so it suited us fine. It's within walking distance of a great cafe, which catered for our morning coffee needs. It's also within easy walking distance (IMO) of Orange township. I loved that there are a lot of gardens around the complex, which was pleasant to look at.In terms of cost, it wasn't very expensive to stay for two nights, so all in all it was just fine for us. If we ever come back to Orange (which is doubtful, sadly) we'd probably stay somewhere else closer to the centre of town, having seen some lovely places, but there was also nothing wrong with this place.

  Disappointed is an understatement

  Definitely will not be staying again. Limited hot water (4 min at max), maintenance and construction work at 7am, bed hard as a rock, out dated rooms and no late check available. Very disappointed, with very poor & rude management. Definitely not worth the money.

  We booked a 2 night stay for March 2021 in November 2020. Approximately 3 weeks before our stay we received a notice that our booking was cancelled. When I rang to enquire what was happening I was told due to the gold mine rescheduling a shutdown we were bumped to accommodate contractors for the mine who paid more for their accommodations than us. The owner was not the least bit apologetic for the inconvenience this caused us. Now we find that we have to find new accommodation with limited choice due to the short notice and increased prices. Be very wary of this if you are considering this accommodation. Disgusting service.

  I booked an apartment for an overnight stay, As part of a short trip away from home with my husband. A week later I received email notification that my booking had been cancelled. There was no explanation.I then emailed the property requesting an explanation, as I thought it may have been an error.. There was no response.The next day I telephoned and spoke to Ingrid who explained that there had been a mine collapse and they needed to accommodate local mine workers. There was no apology, simply an explanation that they look after their local long stay mine workers. She also said there is no policy to communicate an explanation or reason when a cancellation is made. I advised her that the property needed to initiate cancellation with the booking provider I had used online, which they had not done.She also said there should be no availability for a lengthy period in August.There is still availability shown on the relevant booking provider and also on their own website.A few days later I received an email from Orange East Apartments, in response to my request for an explanation. The response from Steve Millar was:“We have had to cancel your booking as we are primarily a long stay mining accommodation and we have been notified of a mine shutdown in August and we need all available rooms for our long standing regular clientsApologies for any inconvenience however you do have a considerable amount of time to find alternative accommodation.”If this accommodation is primarily for long stay mining accommodation, it would be appropriate to indicate that on their website. They do not.Based on the rude and offhand way I was treated, I wouldn’t recommend the Orange East Apartments, Orange, to anyone. And I haven’t even stayed there!Singularly unimpressed!Surely if Orange East Apartments are primarily a long stay mining accommodation, shouldn’t they indicate that on their website?

  Rude Greeting Overpriced Motel

  Check in was unfriendly and abrupt room is overpriced it is at its best a dated motel room. Heater hopeless limited hot water both not good in Orange but the worst was yet to come beds that were like rocks definitely not worth what why paid!!Don't want to whinge but very noisy neighbor's the management is obviously only interested in looking after the miners they do as they please noise wise!!Not for us safe travels all x
