    beautiful resort

    rating05 May 2026

A beautiful resort! Our room was extremely nice, with a lovely ocean view balcony. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet and perfect for us. Our room was very clean; I appreciated that we received a note when we (accidentally) activated the privacy button which skipped daily housekeeping service. The staff was very nice. Our stay included breakfast, which was a great buffet along with made-to-order items. We enjoyed the casual lobby/outside bar/restaurant, the local bay bugs and local oysters were delicious! The outside pool bar offers cold buckets of beer to enjoy next to the salt water swimming lagoon (complete with tropical fish!). As for value, considering it's a resort, the prices seemed appropriately expensive. The only negative was the location ... beautiful views but not beach front ... and not near small cute coastal towns north of this area. So, come to relax and just enjoy this beautiful resort! Explore the grounds, including the JW Garden; take a day to visit the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (about 40 minutes away).

    Great Hospitality

    rating18 Apr 2026

First trip to Australia and we stayed here for four nights as our first stop. We had arrived at noon and Nathalie was very helpful in finding us a room for an early check in, after learning we had just flown 20 hours and were anxious to settle in. Although our original room assignment was on a higher floor, this room was lower, but still had a view of the pool and the ocean. The room was large with a firm bed, although the pillows were quite soft. The bathroom also had plenty of room with a very large shower. The balcony was small and narrow, but it was still pleasant to be able to sit outside, especially in the morning with coffee. A mini fridge was included and this was the only hotel among several we encountered that had a self-service ice machine, which was handy. The pool area is lovely, with the choice of both a salt water and fresh water. But it was crowded on the weekends and there were a lot of children... a lot of unsupervised children who yelled, did cannonballs and made a nuisance of themselves. I understand this location is marketed as a family resort, so this should be expected, but it would have been nice to have one small area that was for adults only. At first, I thought the location seemed a bit remote from Surfers Paradise, but there is a close by tram stop that takes you right there and it was actually quite pleasant not being around the crowds along the touristy strip. It was a 10 minute walk to the closest beach, which was a different vibe entirely from the pool area.We enjoyed our stay overall and would recommend this hotel.

    Check your invoices!

    rating16 Apr 2026

Stayed for 2 nights over Easter. Positives: stunning hotel. Pool areas fantastic. Great choice of restaurants etc. Negatives: They did not refund our deposit, had to chase this up. They charged us another $200 3 days after we checked out. Numerous emails back and forth and they just kept saying we had redeemed a voucher twice (explained this was incorrect but they just kept dismissing me) Eventually after 7 days I noticed one of the invoices for the restaurant was not ours and didn't even have our room number. They have FINALLY admitted they were wrong. Apparently a refund has been processed but it's about the principal now. I've been dismissed all week and was close to giving up. How many other guests do they do this too that don't check their invoices. We have had a half hearted apology, no offer of any other apology. We would of went back to this hotel in a heartbeat but not I'm not so sure. Very very disappointed. Cost is $1500 for 2 nights and this has been the experience. Letitia Dauth, Other at JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, responded to this review Dear Paula SThank you for your feedback and for bringing these concerns to our attention. While we’re pleased to hear that you found the hotel itself amazing, we are extremely disappointed to learn about the ongoing issues with overcharging and the delay in returning your deposit.Being incorrectly charged, waiting several days for a deposit refund, and not receiving email responses is not acceptable and falls well below our service standards. We sincerely apologise for the frustration this has caused. This should have been resolved promptly and communicated clearly.Accurate billing and timely follow-up are essential, and we regret that we did not deliver on these fundamentals during your stay or afterward.Thank you again for your feedback. While we regret the negative impact this has had on your experience, we hope we can resolve this matter swiftly and restore your confidence in our brand.Kind regardsLetitia DauthExecutive Assistant

Five Years Running. The Best Family Resort in Australia.

    rating27 Mar 2026

Five Years Running. The Best Family Resort in Australia. We have just wrapped up a special 8-night stay at the JW Marriott Gold Coast with the whole family, and it continues to be the highlight of our year. This is our fifth year in a row, and we have already booked in for next year. Our family has been visiting this resort for close to 30 years now, and we are bringing our third generation of children through. It never disappoints. The lagoon pool is one of a kind. There is nothing else like it in Australia. It is immaculately maintained, the kids never want to leave and love the snorkelling - it is a huge part of what makes this resort feel like a real holiday. A big thank you to Scarlet, Harry and Keegan in the pool area for always making it such a great space for families. The dining across the resort was outstanding again. Citrique and the breakfast team go above and beyond every morning. Thank you to Jeki, Gina, Jackie, Jenjira, Sitari, Alex, Kate, Impsen, Chef Paul and Chef Selva for making every meal feel special. At Misono, Sous Chef Albert ran a fantastic sushi-making class for the family, which was a real highlight for the kids.Chanel, Meg and Steven at the front office made everything seamless. And a special mention to Sena, Nadia and Denise in housekeeping for keeping our rooms spotless throughout and the nighttime chocolates. What sets this report apart is the people. The staff genuinely remember you year after year, they care, and they go out of their way to make families feel at home. It is the reason we keep coming back, and the reason we have already locked in next year!If you are looking for a family resort on the Gold Coast, this is the one.

    Poor hygiene in the room

    rating24 Mar 2026

The hygiene is bad at this hotel. There are pieces of hair everywhere in the room. After changing the room which was “double-checked” by hotel staff, there was still hair on the bed. What an experience. Letitia Dauth, Other at JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, responded to this review Dear skygavinThank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear about the hygiene issues you encountered and the disappointing experience during your stay. Your concerns about cleanliness and the state of the rooms are noted and deeply valued. We appreciate you bringing this to attention and apologize for the inconvenience caused.Kind regardsLetitia DauthExecutive Assistant
