Well located, service could be better

    rating16 May 2026

My family of 5 stayed for one night in May 2026 - as we needed enough beds for everyone to fit, we booked an interconnecting room. I actually did a fair bit of research before hitting the "book" button; opting for a full service motel over a serviced apartment as we were arriving late and I wanted the service provided by a 24-hour reception. When we arrived at hotel at 9:30pm, the hotel lobby was empty and the reception desk unmanned. I couldn't find a bell to ring or a buzzer to press and wandered around aimlessly while the kids sat in the car outside. Eventually I was served and we made our way to the room. Unfortunately, the door connecting the two rooms was locked so we could only access the kids' room by going out into the corridor. The phone to reception went unanswered so I was forced to go back into the lift to find an assistanct manager with the key to the connecting door. The whole process (i.e. checking in and gettting full access to the rooms) took over an hour and after a long journey it was fairly rough and I probably should've just used a serviced apartment or an Air BnB after all.The rooms themselves were clean and they both had small balconies with ocean views. The bathrooms have the classic bath showers but that's to be expected from an 80s style hotel. The hotel itself is a really short walk to the beach/Cavill Ave and while we didn't use the pool, it looked pretty stylish and inviting. Parking is $22 per night. Absolute Doghouse

Deplorable stay.I frequent hotels and this is my first regrettable stay.Room was unhygenic on many fronts. I requested a room transfer which was actioned. I waited in the hall due to the condition. The gentleman from Concierge was amazing with a homely approach. I went to the Spa and called for assistance to get it turned on. I was hung up on by a rude lady. When help came, I was treated rudely with discriminative behaviour. Shortly after this I'll treatment, the Spa was intentionally turned off on me. I went straight to my room and noticed outside the window people inside the Spa with it turned on.I've trapped myself in room. Can't wait to leave in the morning! A mixed bag… great location, brekky & staff!! Room a bit of a let down.

    rating29 Mar 2026

Absolutely brilliant & very convenient location! Close to beach, shops, cafes, restaurants & tram line…this is the BEST part of it! Breakfast was actually also very impressive as well, everything included & the selection of food & drink choices were 2nd to none! 🥞🍳🥓Everything was fresh & topped up regularly, lovely waitstaff! Reception staff were also very warm & welcoming. Housekeeping lady was lovely & very efficient & accommodating when we requested more milks, coffees & extra pillow due to back neck. Nice touch.☺️ Parking was reasonably priced for safety & peace of mind, car stayed stationary for our whole stay as everything was in walking distance.Great ocean view from our room, but the biggest let down of our stay was the room itself. It was small, pokey, drab & outdated.Tired worn out carpet, curtains, bed cover & bathroom.AC did not keep room very cool even though it was on the coolest setting & the entry light stayed on permanently & there was no switch to turn it off, so we had to either sleep with the light on all night or take out the key card & have no power & swelter in the heat. Called reception but they did not know how to turn the light off either. So we ended up not sleeping much due to the light bring on constantly, on check out we mentioned this again to receptionist who told us that there was a hidden light switch inside the case where the key card sits!! Not visible at all!! Advice to hotel management… maybe put a sign on the wall explaining this to future guests.🙏Save this happening to anyone else.
