    An excellent three day stay

    rating04 Feb 2026

We, along with some friends of ours had a three night Luxury Escape stay. The accommodation was excellent with little things like a white switch against a black background for the main light switch, subdued movement activated lights under the bedside table to help getting up during the night and bottles in the shower with gel etc that you could actually read without glasses. The breakfast bar wa logically and sequentially set out so particular food was easy to find. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Theft of an e-bike while at the hotel

    rating28 Dec 2025

Our family stay was good till our 3rd day. My e-bike was stolen in the gated parking lot, P1 (not ground level) of the Sebel while it was tied up in a dedicated bike rack in what I believed was a secure parking area. You need a hotel key card to even get into this section.I reported the incident to hotel reception as soon as I found out, however, the response was very disappointing. It was like it was our fault that we left our bikes in this area, like we should not trust items there to be safe from theft even if it was supposed to be secure parking. The receptionist even said there have already been several stolen bikes previously, including just in the past few days. We were told that we should just report this to the police as it is a police matter. He said there is CCTV for the parking lot but they will only share that if police would request it from them.I have asked to at least speak to management and the receptionist said he'll tell them, hopefully management would speak to us, but I haven't heard from them as of this writing.

    Everyone’s Hotel Nightmare

    rating25 Jul 2025

The bathroom was dirty on arrival (toilet was unclean and unflushed, shower/ vanity had not been cleaned. Fingerprints all over glass doors. Bed had stains and hairs on sheets.Housekeeping was contacted but did not arrive to clean until a follow up complaint the following day. Very expensive for a dirty room. We spent $2,300 for 5 nights. Management not interested, offered a 10% discount for NEXT stay! No thanks! We wont be back! Michael Gibson, General Manager at The Sebel Twin Towns Coolangatta, responded to this review Dear Barbara,Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on multiple platforms. I'm sorry to hear that having our housekeeping manager rectify your issues the following morning and our compensation offer did not meet your standards. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of.Kind RegardsNatasha EvansFront Office Manager

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in

    rating04 Jun 2025

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in and worst service received.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.Day 1 - 2pm checked in. No hangers in the wardrobe and safe locked open. Called housekeeping, was transferred to reception, told someone will fix the issues. One hour later and a further two calls to reception still nothing. Personally went to reception and was told again that they are sending someone.By this stage we missed lunch with friends who we were meeting.A lady came up to fix the safe - didn’t speak English. Hangers didn’t arrive. We went out but returned at 5:30pm and still no hangers.Called reception- same response and no action.Went back to reception and spoke to Peter, the duty manager. His response was “we’re busy”. 15 minutes later, he came up with the hangers.Day 2: room not serviced (inc in our package).Went out, back at 2pm, room not serviced. Understand stays are done later.Went out at 3pm and reminded reception that are room has not been serviced. Response- “we service stays between 1pm and 3pm”. Returned at 6pm room still not serviced. Called reception told someone will be up. Nothing so again walked to reception. Told by a female receptionist that they are busy but will send someone.30 minutes later, a male came to the room and handed me a pile of towels at the door. Asked him if he is come in to service the room and he said he can’t. I asked if he can take the dirty towels away, which he did reluctantly. Michael Gibson, General Manager at The Sebel Twin Towns Coolangatta, responded to this review At The Sebel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence.
