  On arrival, there are several setps to carry your luggage up and they dont have a conceirge, so if you have a abd back or elderly this might be an issue. Very friendly staff and accomodating, including the lady at the in-house cafe.I discounted the review because of the following:1. There was a desk but no where to plug in whatever you are using. Most often this would be a laptop. There is a TV off the wall just above it and it is very easy to hit your head on the bottom of the TV, which I did twice.2. The room was not made up and I stayed 2 nights. I thought that it might just be the sign on the door know, but that was just a 'Do not disturb, sign , not a 'Please clean my room' sign.3. the soap dispenser scred to the wall was broken and the water in the shower was not constant, it went from hot to cold which made fro an uncomfortable experience.Good staff are hard to find and I think the management is lucky there, but they need to spend more time/money on the facilities/systems.

  A useful new middle of the road hotel in Southport

  This is a useful new addition to the hotel stock in the area. Reasonably well priced and a very nicely designed hotel. About the same standard and funky design as the best Ibis hotels. The best feature is the underground car park, at an extra cost of $20/day. The hotel is close to all the features of Southport. The staff are delightful, friendly and efficient. And there is a handy cafe at the reception level. Well done.

  Chosen for proximity to public transport (bus and tram), shopping malls (3), and well away from traffic mayhem, this hotel has been awesome. Home away from home.Woodroffe is unique in it's location within a quiet residential area, yet central to Gold Coast business district and medical facilities. Views over the Broadwater and yacht club to the ocean, from my east facing room were also welcome.This is a modern facility with quality fitout, functional for travellers and businessmen alike. Laundry room and limited secure parking are available. Staff are all happy and helpful with clean public areas and easy access for disabled clients.Rooms are quiet and a sound sleep is assured on comfortable beds and with adequate pillows and blankets.Phone, fast wifi, LAN connection, tv and aircon are all high quality.We arrived by car which remained safely locked away below. We all made use of the inexpensive local transport options including light rail connecting thru to Brisbane.With so many local food outlets and cafes just across the park we didn't partake of hotel cafe facilities. A microwave oven is available in the lobby cafe area for reheating any takeaways.Coffee, tea, soaps and shampoos are all provided in room and daily servicing ensures a supply of fluffy clean towels.

  Managers very rude

  A male receptionist recommended us to park for free on the street in front of the hotel because the hotel did not provide free parking. We rented a car and stayed from January 26 to January 29. He suggested that we park on the street in front of the hotel for free from January 26 to January 28 and move the car before 9 a.m. on January 29. However, on the morning of January 28, we received a parking ticket for exceeding the time limit.We then contacted Reception Manager Amiko to report the issue. While trying to resolve the problem, we requested to book the hotel’s parking space to avoid further trouble. Amiko kindly allowed us to park at the hotel for free and was very helpful and polite. She also assured us that she would follow up on the matter within the same day or the next.After we checked out, we asked about the progress, but the Manager, Hnae, did not listen to our concerns. Instead, she asked us multiple times, “Do you have a driver’s license?” This question seemed to imply that if we did, we should have known about the parking rules. She further stated that the male staff member who gave us the advice was a local boy.It is true that we are not locals; we were visiting as tourists and relied on the staff’s advice regarding parking. However, Hnae mocked our understanding of English, spoke rudely, and showed no apology through her tone, facial expressions, or words.We also requested to check the CCTV footage from the day we checked in, but Hnae said there was no audio available.

  Terrible experience and worse customer service.

  Don’t stay there if your life depended on it. Lots of antisocial people on streets nearby and urinating in front of you on the streets. It was very scary. Could not leave at night without feeling so very unsafe.Rooms are basic, clean and very very small.Watch the payments. They took a double payment from our account and despite asking them daily for a refund 6 days later it still has not been refunded. Have reported them to bank fraud but still not money yet to be seen. Will never return to this hotel. And if you want to keep your credit card safe I would suggest not going there.
