Location

The hotel is just a 5-minute stroll along the seaside boardwalk to Abel Point Marina where all tours for the Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach and the Whitsunday Islands start. The resort is situated just 30 minutes from the two major domestic airports or only 25 minutes from the national motorway.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 50 apartments located in two 2-storey buildings with lifts. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The apartment hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service. Bicycle storage is also available. Complimentary newspapers are available. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Rooms feature a living area, a kitchen and a bathroom. Air conditioning and central heating ensure comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. For self-catering guests, there is a well-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, tea/coffee station, dishwasher and oven. There is also a washing machine, an ironing set and a tumble dryer. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a stereo system, a CD player, a DVD player, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. The bathrooms have a shower, a bathtub and a whirlpool bath. For additional convenience, bathrooms also provide a hairdryer. Cosmetic products and a selection of towels provide additional comfort in the bathrooms. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The apartment hotel has family rooms and 50 non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Guests can work out or just relax in the outdoor and indoor pools. Kids can splash about in a special swimming area just for them. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. The hotel offers an extensive outdoor sport and leisure programme, which includes tennis and fishing. For a fee, guests can also enjoy cycling/mountain biking, beach volleyball, basketball, crazy golf, golf and horse riding. Guests can take part in a comprehensive water sports programme, which includes windsurfing, canoeing and snorkelling, with jet skiing, motorboat rides, sailing, catamaraning, diving, water aerobics and aquafit available for a fee. A wide range of indoor sporting activities are also offered, for example a gym, billiards, darts and bowling or, for a fee, squash, callisthenics and aerobics. Various wellness options are available at the hotel, including a spa, a sauna, massage treatments and a solarium. Activity coordinators organise an entertainment programme for adults and children.

Meals

The dining area includes a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children.

    Was a great stay with all of the facilities to make my trip comfortable. Self contained and washing facilities were just what I needed as well. Location was great being close to where I was working and shops were very close by.     What a pleasant experience in a home-away-from-home apartment. Marina Shores is the perfect spot for a quiet rest

    I stayed at Marina Shores as part of a get-together with a friend. The visit spanned 3 nights. I was surprised at the ample space and privacy my apartment had. It is self-service Everything was clean and fresh. Even though the train from Townsville had me arrive at Marina Shores about three quarter hour after reception closed, my check-in was smooth and well organised with arrangements made to collect my key. Access was perfect for my wobbly legs. I did not have the oomph to walk to one of the restaurants and ordered a meal delivery using the local Uber-Eats service. The meals were delivered in good time and I had the luck of having my garden verandah close to the boom gate effectively having delivery to my front door. The bed was super plush with enough pillows to suit any pernickety traveler. Despite the hotel being booked out, it was perfectly quiet and my stay invigorating. I had a pleasing view of the marina and lush greenery that reminded you that this was the tropics. I did not expect to find an espresso machine in the kitchen area, but how good was that? Pods can be bought for $1 each had me all bright eyed and bushy tailed. Thanks, that was a brilliant touch.
