  Location amazing….Other small things not so! But still nice to stay there and recommend you do.

  Stayed for 3 nights to get married in March 2026.Checked in early from a red eye flight.Left bags with concierge. Returned at 2:00pm to check into room. 2 employees working at concierge desk. One pointed to the bag trolley behind me and said, “you can use that if you like.” Which I did so. My thoughts on this maybe controversial however in my mind, this is not an apartment, or a hotel. If I stay at a place that has the word “resort’ at the end, then I think that I should not be doing any work there. This has been the case in every other “resort” (including) internationally that I’ve stayed at. In fact most places not only handle your luggage for you, they provide a hot towel on welcome drink on arrival.I’m there to relax. So, let me “resort”, please, respectfully, you do the work. Suggestion to staff and management…..if you call yourself a resort, then take the luggage to our room and then call me to let me know you’ve checked in for us once the room is ready.Room was quite nice, no complaints. The location and grounds are beautiful and it is a convenient 5 minute stroll into the township of Airlie Beach.The breakfast is a bit on the poor side for the money. I see that this is a regular complaint in the reviews, but management are a bit like the Australian government on taxing the gas industry in regard to idnoring the feedback and not improving the standard of the breakfast.Day 2…..We had lunch at the resort and got engaged (to be married) during that lunch. All the restaurant staff saw this occur and were very congratulatory which was nice.At the end of the lunch I went up to the room to collect something leaving my new fiance’ in the restaurant. When I came back down (in 5 minutes) my fiance’ informed me that the maître d insisted that the she paid the lunch bill before we left. Ahhh yes mate, we intended to. But even if we didn’t, we’re staying at the “resort” that doesn’t handle baggge. You knew that. If you’re really worried that we were not going to pay our lunch bill, and we ended up not paying, then you could track us down in our room. You could even charge it to the room if you like. Anyways, just a little customer service thing. A bit weird but nothing major.We got married on day 3 at the “resort” that doesn’t handle luggage. And a big shout out to staff member Rima. What a superstar! Professional, courteous, organised, customer focused. Without her input over several days this review would definitely have been harsher.Packed our bags and cleaned out room/fridge the next day. Once we were all packed up, we left our bags in the room and met with friends/family (that had flown in from interstate) at the restaurant downstairs. When we went back to our room (I concede it was well after check out time) to collect bags and was pleasantly surprised that it seemed that our luggage had actually been handled and had been removed from the room. We went to the concierge to collect our baggage and the staff member at the concierge informed me that staff having to collect our baggage from our room was “quite inconvenient.” Ahhh Jesus, the double down on the “resort” that doesn’t handle baggage.You know what….at this point, you’ve already handled the baggage anyway and we’re checking out. We’ve paid fairly good money to stay at the “resort” and also hosted a wedding at the “resort”. You could just say, I hoped you’ve enjoyed your stay, hope to see you again. But you had to make the lasting and final thought about the place that this is a “resort” that doesn’t handle baggage. A ‘resort” where you don’t get to check out of real life for a few days, and you still do all the work/lifting.Other than that, it’s a beautiful place that’s worth staying at. The management/staff probably just need to tweak a couple of things to make it perfect. Hard to assess in only a few days, but it seems like there might be a “culture” issue at the “resort” that doesn’t handle baggage. Which of course, if this is the case, it’s most likely due to management having the culture issue.Again, amazingly well done to Rima. Rima understands customer service. She is carrying the place! The rest, not so much.   Very good stay at Coral Sea resort. We had a lovely double room overlooking the ocean with a balcony room nicely air-conditioned and lovely shower in a large cubicle. The room was also cleaned every day without having to request it.Continental breakfast was excellent with a variety of cereals, pastries, and croissants and bread yoghurt, Chia puddings and cold meats and cheese if you wantedVery well situated only about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the main street where there are lots of restaurants and cafés and also only about 20 to 25 minutes walk to the port from where the variety of boat trip set off. Also very nice walk across the boardwalk to the local marina with our also cafés we had dinner in the main street and I would recommend the Deck and KC diner Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.   Coral Sea Resort has not disappointed at any stage! Incredible room/view, amazing pool/bar/dining area, with a stunning sunset each evening! A standout on our trip has been Maryrose, who contacted me prior to the trip to see if there were any excursions we were interested in, to assisting us at the hotel with recommendations and local insights that have all proven to make our stay an even better experience.   Highly recommend Coral Sea Resort

  We travelled to Coral Sea Resort for my birthday and our anniversary. Maryrose in the resort shop was wonderful. She recommended our tour to Whitehaven Beach and organised something special in our room for the special occasion. We would highly recommend this picturesque resort & friendly staff.
