Location

The resort is the closest of the Whitsunday Islands to Shute Harbour, lying just 5 km away from the mainland. Guests can go on rainforest walks 1 km from the club resort, and Mermaid Beach is the same distance away. Whitehaven Beach is approximately 20 km from the spa complex and Great Barrier Reef is around 50 km away. The island is also serviced by Hamilton Island Airport and is just a 30-minute trip across the Whitsunday Passage.

Facility

The resort has a lift and features 296 rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. A baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine are available. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The resort has wheelchair-accessible facilities. Film fans will find plenty of 'lights, camera, action' at the cinema. A number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Daily newspapers are available for purchase. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a king-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and a telephone are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The resort has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Guests can cool off in one of the 3 outdoor pools. There is a children's swimming area as well. A hot tub invites guests to soothe their muscles, and a poolside snack bar will take care of any hungry bellies. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. The wide range of activities offered at the resort ensures that there is something new to do every day, including tennis, beach volleyball, basketball, crazy golf and fishing. With water skiing, jet skiing, banana boat rides, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning, kayaking, snorkelling and diving available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, badminton, billiards, yoga and aerobics. Various wellness options are available at the complex, including a spa, a sauna, a beauty salon, massage treatments and a solarium. Additional leisure activities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club and live music.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant (with high chairs), a café and a bar. A continental breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner offer plenty of delicious variety. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and picnics are available.

    Review Positives & Negatives -Room was spacious & clean (3rd Floor)Living reef excellent.Rainforest walk , Lovers cove nice find. (Bar was closed every time.)Found young staff not friendly, nonchalant.Bathroom had no fan , taps squealed.Walls thin , heard neighbours Tv.Food , breakfast buffet -eggs bacon cereal, cold cuts , yoghurt, melon etc - no bananas !Several restaurants need to book , found overpriced , food lukewarm.Wallabies Cockatoo's & Curlew birds all over the place.Never used the pool , weather was poor, Sun lotion Bikini never out of case. Thankfully my book was excellent !We found the place had no atmosphere, Yes they had table tennis, Bingo & trivia late afternoon. Nothing at night.also walk ways not lit at night , had to use our phones.Large site , with some areas boarded up, not in use.Overall maintenance in some areas run down.Would not return.Sad really - so much potential.     Here’s a more personal take:Just got back from Daydream Island with a couple of friends and honestly, what a spot. We packed a lot in and loved nearly all of it.The food was excellent — we were genuinely impressed meal after meal. The spa was another standout, and I can’t recommend Vicky enough. Her hot stone massage was fantastic, exactly what I needed.The Living Reef snorkelling ended up being one of the real treats of the trip. Gabriel, the marine biologist there, was so knowledgeable and friendly — you could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and it made the whole experience that much better. We also snorkelled at Lovers Bay, did the rainforest walk, and spent a fair few hours at the saltwater pool and bar working our way through cocktails. No complaints there.The wildlife around the resort was such a bonus too. The birds were everywhere, and spotting the wallaroos hopping around never got old.     A great place for a family holiday

    Daydream island is amazing. We loved every moment of it. It was clean comfortable and very relaxed. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will return. The food in the restaurants was very good and being able to do takeaway was a great idea. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, however the hot food was not hot. This does need attention. We did sip and paint at Lovers Cove. We had fun and did know it was self guided. However, as it is a paid for activity, the watercolour paints really need replacing. There was no palette that had white left. And a board of some sort to lean the one piece of paper on we were given, while we painted would have been helpful. The young man on the activity that day gave zero interaction. The staff on the kayaking and sailing were really helpful and friendly.     We were a bit concerned after reading some poor reviews but were very pleased with everything. The food at both restaurants was great, the living reef is amazing and the resort was in good condition. One minor negative was breakfast where the hot food was only warm.     Disappointing can’t wait to leave

    I was extremely disappointed with my stay here. The place feels like an abandoned school camp which is unfortunate considering the location. The rooms smell like mould, the shower fills up and doesn’t drain properly so you end up standing in warm soupy water only to get out and nearly slip over because there is no proper exhaust fan and you can’t see because the room is full of steam. The food is TERRIBLE ,overpriced, little choice and not as described on menu. The best meal I had was lunch on a day trip snorkelling which speaks volumes as to how bad it was. It seems pretty evident there isn’t much love going into this place… the best part was the cockatoos and wallabies. I would never recommend anyone to stay here.
