Needs a freshen up

The rooms were clean and the bed was soft and comfortable. The bathroom could do with a freshen up. Old style tissue boxes on wall empty, the shelf broken off in shower and a very poor respect for test and tag appliances with the hair dryers 10 years out of date and were tagged in 2012 and jew in 2014 still not done.

Well now I’m not sure. New owners, most likely more interested in their back pockets than their customers who pay their bills!!!In writing this the staff will know who I am and should reply back to the owners for their viewing. Firstly the new one million dollar renovation that was supposed to be completed last year, it’s still hasn’t even started, so please if you can’t perform don’t advertise on something that’s not!!The staff are so lovely and I know it’s not their fault, but for the owners they have no loyalty to their customers. For example, new menu in the front and only restaurant is on for takers, but if you order a sauce for your steak it’s an extra $2.00 charge even though it’s not mentioned on the menu!! And I would say it’s probably covered on other meals as well!! All alcohol and meal prices are well above what is out there. One glass of wine I had..$14.00 but if you went to Dan Murphys you could buy almost 3 750ml bottles for the same price!!!Rooms are good and clean. I’ve been coming here for a good part of 16 years, but I’m starting to think is there time to start looking elsewhere!!! Good luck with your choice of accommodation!!

When things are set to be done, there no!! Sorry guys, you’re up there, but you’re declining at a rate.The 1 million dollar upgrade that was supposed to be finished last year, hasn’t even started! In my opinion only, if you advertise such a thing and don’t deliver, you will get hammered by the people who may have an interest in your business.For me, I’ve been staying at your hotel coming close to 16 years. Understandable you’ve had staff change but make no apologies , they all have been first class.The other thing I have an issue is that like most places is the pricing , your meals in the front restaurant you really need to review your pricing cause it’s a little bit out there. For example, why would someone pay $10.00 for a glass of wine when you can go into Dan Murphys and get close to 2 bottles for the same price!!’The new owners have scrapped your rewards scheme from Choice Privileges. Great service for people like me and others who would like to save their points and use them elsewhere. Probably not a good idea as in the same town you have other hotels that have kept the scheme going and well done to them cause they would’ve known that this has happened.In finishing, this hotel is good and it may seem I’ve put a damper on it, but it just needs a little touch up to get back to its first class standard it was! Visit by all means and then make your decision!!

I booked in for an overnight stay in a suite that had a king sized bed and a spa bath and shower in the bathroom. The room was on the 3rd floor which had a view of the port and bay area. From the spa /bathroom they have a big glass window so you can relax in the spa and enjoy the views towards the bay/marina. I paid $210 for the night, but it was well worth it for the views from the relaxing atmosphere of the spa. Definitely worth a visit when in Portland.

Nice atmosphere, late to lunch but was not a problem. waitress was very helpful excellent food served with a smile by the chef. Good spot on the wardrobe. clean and well presented and an excellent way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. recommended for anyone who wants good value in a nice restaurant.
