  Don't book the one-bedroom apartments

  The apartments are handily located near the main street and restaurants, and a short walk to the river. We originally booked a one-bedroom apartment for three nights. I don't know what they are all like, but ours was in a row where the one-bedroom apartments are on the ground floor, boxed in behind a massive roller-door garage, and there is a bigger apartment upstairs. The apartment was very small indeed, and there was inadequate cutlery etc. Outside there was a small unswept terrace with a fence overshadowed by what looked like a giant steel shed. This was not consistent with the images on the web site. Also, the locks were very dodgy, and I heard the upstairs people struggling with their door too. The shower leaked.As I am claustrophobic, I was unable to stay more than one night. The receptionist said she could not contact the owners when we asked if there another apartment that was available. To be fair, by lunchtime she had done so, and we were moved to a nice two-bedroom apartment with a great outlook from the living area (but there was frosted glass in the bedroom windows which isn't great when you are claustrophobic). This apartment was well equipped, and I would stay there again. It was cold though, with the reverse cycle air-conditioner inadequate for the space. In the winter maybe they bring in portable heaters. (At least the small apartments had panel heaters that worked well). There was a dishwasher and a washing machine. So, I would definitely advise against the one-bedroom apartments.   Small and noisy with upper floor guests and a/c compressors that spoilt our stay.

  These one bedroom apartments are very compact. While they have almost everythin for a self contained short stay there is not not room even to open two small cabin cases. Our room on the ground floor was clean and modern. Basic needs for limited cooking, small fridge, table and chairs, and a sink. There was a tiny courtyard which housed two a/c compressors. At night there was an annoying amount of noise from the upstairs apartment which had children running around till late at night. A creaking upper floor disturbed our sleep too. We mentioned this to recetion the following morning but the young receptionist refused to either move us or ask the noisy guests to quieten down at night. This disappointed greatly and we would not return here

  Room for improvement.

  Our ground floor, one bed apartment was compact and bijou. No cats were available to swing, but you’d be pushed to have the space. Despite the signage, there was no cleaning service for the three days we stayed and we had to ask for clean towels. The owners need to up their game for the kitchen facilities. Two knives, forks and spoons and two of each plate are hardly enough if you’re self catering. The pot was just big enough to boil an egg so I had to ask for a bigger one. Young woman on reception was very pleasant, but this equipment should be provided as standard. The location is good on Bank St with lots of nearby cafes, but the beach is a good 15 minute walk, not 100 metres away as one reviewer suggested. Not very soundproof either as you can hear neighbours above and around. It’s ok for the money, I guess.

  The management of this place has no sense of fairness compassion or decency.My golf group booked 11 rooms for six days. It is true that we chose the non refundable rate.Four days before we were due to check in, I was admitted to Epworth Hospital Intensive Care Unit for an unknown period of time.I immediately contacted the property and advised we couldn’t attend.I provided a certificate from the hospital and asked for a refund given the circumstances.The rest of the group attended. I was advised that the room allocated to me had already been relet.Despite repeated requests, the management refused to refund any part of the $1002 I had paid.Dollars before decency.

  Nice, good service and well maintained

  Nice, good service and well maintained, Excellent and Spacious Cabanas right in the center of the town. Good service and attention, a really great place to stay and enjoy all water sport attractions, surfing Sky surf. Young and attractive town. Attention to the detail that in al towns we drove through the Southwest of Australia, Restaurants close very early, and dishes offered are basics and more fast-food venues.
