    See, the thing about hospitality is meeting expectations. So when a venue sends you a letter, saying that the house that you’re spending over $3k on for 2 nights will be available for checkin at 2pm and you design your whole day’s travel around getting there at 2, and then when you get there at 2pm you’re quite pointedly told that the 2pm checkin doesn’t apply to your room and it’s implied that somehow it’s your fault that you didn’t read the letter they wrote you stating the checkin time (which does very clearly state 2pm, btw), and you’re then sent off to entertain yourself for an hour, it makes you question whether your expectations for the entire trip will be met. The Residence itself looks like a bogan Mcmansion from the outside and at first glance is underwhelming and I’ll admit, a little disappointing. However, it’s surprisingly nice inside, and it was fine for a family weekend. But again - if I’m paying $3k for a weekend, I don’t expect there to be rubbish lying in the backyard. Expectations. Try not to have them and you might enjoy the Hermitage.

    Perfect location for visiting the Hunter Valley wineries

    Perfect location for visiting the wineries - many under 10 mins' drive. Lovely rooms with everything provided for your stay. Swimming pool well maintained and empty when we stayed Tuesday-Thursday. There's an on site, independent, restaurant if you don't fancy driving in the evening. Continental breakfast provided in room, which was perfect to set you up for the day.

    A wonderful stay at Hermitage Lodge, lovely spacious newly renovated rooms. Comfortable beds and great amenities. A special mention to Nicole on reception for her excellent customer service, welcoming and warm and nothing too much trouble! 🍇😊

    Excellent rustic chalet with excellent Italian Restaurant Pascara. King Size Bed with high ceiling. Jacuzzi in toilet. Beautiful sunrise and you can catch hot air balloons taking off nearby. Laundry room with free self service.Convenient e- short drive to First Creek Winery, Tower Whiskey Distillery, BBQ at Blaxland Inn, Shopping at Hunter Valley Gardens, Chocolate Factory.

    I booked this hotel because I read a lot of good reviews from previous guests - and I did not make a mistake. This hotel has spacious and clean rooms. Our room ( vineyard suite)comes with a patio, with a view of the vineyard, and it also has a fireplace - some things we dont get to see in Singapore. We enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful. We had to come a day earlier, and I emailed the hotel about it. They promptly replied and accommodated my requests to check in a day in advance. This hotel is near to a lot of eating places, general stores , etc. But you must have a car to go around. Getting an Uber or taxi isn't difficult, but it depends on the timing. Reception closed every day at around 4 / 5 pm, but they can arrange for a late check-in as long as you inform them in advance. Generally, a pleasant stay
