At the end of the day hotels are about one thing……

    rating21 May 2026

Great location, easy to get to, beautiful surroundings very big hotel….conference venue too….its good spot especially with a familyBut…..what’s the most important thing a hotel can provide? A comfortable bed!! Sadly it wasn’t the case. You could feel the outline of the previous thousand occupants, it had basically collapsed. Nice spot, good bar and breakfast, just not a stack of sleep between the dodgy bed and vibrating air con Jackson Cant, Marketing at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley, responded to this review Hi Don2156,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the location, surroundings, bar, and breakfast, and that the resort suited a family stay. We’re sorry to hear the bed comfort and air‑conditioning impacted your sleep - this certainly isn’t the experience we want for our guests. Your comments have been shared with the team as we continue reviewing room comfort and maintenance. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope there’s an opportunity to welcome you back for a more restful stay in the future.Regards,Jackson

Don'y stay at this Resort if you would like a quiet relaxing time

    rating18 May 2026

We booked a 2 bedroom villa for 3 nights at Ridges Resort Hunter Valley from 5 May 2026 and a family member travelling with us booked a King room in the main building for the same period hoping for a relaxing stay. That was impossible! The Resort was hosting an event for about 600 Hillsong people for the first 2 days which involved sessions in the conference area during the day and from 6pm until at least 8:30pm at night. There was loud thumping music associated with each session which was almost intolerable even rattling some windows in the King room which overlooked the conference centre and it could be heard from even our villa which was some distance away. We approached management a number of times but they did nothing to try to curb the noise although after numerous complaints they agreed to provide a free meal for the directly affected family member. Then on the last night after the Hillsong people left about lunch time on the 3rd day after a session that morning, another event was held in the conference centre that night with loud thumping music from about 7pm until well after 10:30 pm. It is clear that management places more importance on their conferencing bookings than on other guests that are trying to have a quiet relaxing stay in this resort. There were some very good aspects like the Gather Restaurant, the breakfasts and the separate bar area but by far these were outweighed by the huge negatives during our stay. Never again will we stay there. Jackson Cant, Marketing at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley, responded to this review Hi Gavin,It's great to hear that you enjoyed our Food and Beverage offerings, and it's unfortunate that your stay was disrupted by noise from one of our conferences. We had informed the affected family member on check-in that there would be some noise coming from the convention centre for the duration of their stay and offered a room in a more removed location, however the guest in question indicated they would like a view of the main pool as it had personal significance for them. We again offered a move to a different room after the first night, and provided a complimentary dining experience in our Gather restaurant as an apology, which you have said was appreciated. We believe it is important to look after all of our guests, whether they are here for business or leisure, and always attempt to accommodate the individual needs of each guest to the best of our ability. We do still hope to welcome you back to our resort.Regards,Rydges Resort Hunter Valley Team.

Wonderful Family Getaway with Great Activities and Friendly Staff

    rating05 Apr 2026

We recently stayed at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley and had a truly wonderful experience overall. It was the perfect getaway with family and friends, offering a great mix of relaxation and activities for everyone. The accommodation was comfortable and well-suited for a group stay, and we especially loved the range of activities available around the resort — there was always something to do, which made the trip even more enjoyable. A special mention to the staff, who were consistently friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Their hospitality really made a difference. While the beds and some parts of the building could benefit from a bit of freshening up, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Everything was still quite comfortable and functional. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and created some great memories. We’d definitely consider coming back again! Exceptional customer service but cold pools

    rating30 Dec 2025

We had a wonderful holiday here, and every staff member we encountered went out of their way to offer amazing service and go above and beyond. It was exceptional service. One example is that my son cut his foot and went to reception around 9pm and they administered first aid. The villa for 6 people was clean and spacious and had a kitchen but no oven, although the fridge was quite small for feeding 5 teenage boys! I called to ask for the rubbish to be taken out and the tea towels changed and they came within 30 mins and took care of it. They also gave us all fresh bath towels upon request. The buffet breakfast no longer has the fresh juice machine, but it was still plentiful with variety. It was 40 degrees all 3 days we were there, so we played pickleball from 8-9pm, which was free and great fun.The 5 boys played golf every day and because they were 15, they couldn’t hire a buggy, but they gave them free use of the golf push carts which was very kind. The concierge had board games that we borrowed. He also helped me find the boys on the golf course in the 43 degree heat and drove me to them in a buggy, so that I could take them iced water. My main issue was with the pools. My summer holidays are typically focussed around the swimming pool of any hotel I book. 1. The pools were quite cold, even in 40+ degree heat. At one point I counted 14 kids under the age of 5 in the spa, and they were treating it like a pool, jumping in and throwing things, because the pool was just too cold, so everyone crammed into the spa being splashed in the face. Not very relaxing. 2. The pools close at 8pm in summer!!!! Ridiculous!!! Right when you’re finally not going to be burnt to a crisp when you swim, and when the screaming kids have moved out, they close the pools and let the ducks swim in them! The adults pool was even colder than the main pool!I would hesitate to go again, because whilst we had a wonderful time, the cold pools put me off. Jackson Cant, Marketing at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley, responded to this review Hi SydneyBek, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re thrilled to hear that our team went above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable - from first aid support to helping with your boys on the golf course, and ensuring your villa was comfortable and well-stocked.We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the pools. We understand how important warm, relaxing pool time is during summer, and we acknowledge your points about the temperature and closing times. Your comments will help us review these areas to improve the experience for future guests. We’re glad overall that you enjoyed your holiday and our facilities, and we hope to welcome you back again under even better conditions.Regards,Jackson
