    False advertising

    rating28 Apr 2026

The place was nice but we were totally stitched up with the price. It was advertised as pay for two nights stay for three.. which is great. We had several other options we liked but because of this deal we locked it in. We Got there to check in and that is not the case. We were expecting to pay two nights for 169 a night then stay the third night free.. NO, apparently it is an average payment of 169 per night for 3 nights. So of course by that stage there was a nights cancellation fee so we were pretty much stuffed. It’s absolutely false advertising and I just wonder how many people have been stung by this “deal”. We won’t be going back. IHG Service, Owner at voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley by IHG, responded to this review Hi Suz C,Thank you for choosing to stay at voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley. Our favourite place in Hunter Valley. Always loved it-ticks all the boxes. This time I would like to express a very huge and special appreciation to one of the bartenders, Monique, lovely, polite, thoughtful person, who took such a great care of us. Thank you very much Monique.

    Nice 4 star hotel

    rating15 Jan 2026

Our short 3 night stay here was very nice although not what we would call special. The staff are great and no issues there. The restaurant is good although the wines are expensive for what they are.We had suite 32, it has a large bedroom and separate lounge, and the fitout was nicely done but it needs a bit of TLC, like the floor outside the bathroom was giving away under the carpet. The bathroom wasn't very clean, hairs etc. There is a wooden walkway around 3 sides of the room, so you do hear people walking past but I have to say that it didn't bother us too much. For a more up expensive room, the views are not great and only partial from the balcony. We loved the architecture of the place.Housekeeping of the grounds could be better, like there were cushions in a courtyard on the ground, presumably blown there and, were there at the start of our visit and were still there at the end of it. Staff were regularly walking past them and should have more pride in the place and pick them up even if it wasn't their job. We loved the indoor pool/spa. One thing we really hated were the open-ended balconies meaning that people can and do walk past your windows and look in. We had guests wheeling their luggage along our bit of the balcony rather than use their front door. There is really no need for this as small unobtrusive low fences could be fitted which would make the rooms so much more private and fit in with the architecture. It seems like this is common on the whole property. Its good value hence the score of 8. Check carefully the room you are booking re views etc. Call them to confirm.Having said the above, we did enjoy our stay, but the balconies will deter us from returning I'm afraid.

    Not worth the money

    rating05 Jan 2026

This resort used to be the number one. Now it is tired, noisy and overrun with children. We paid $1100 a night for a suite that did not have a safe, champagne glasses, makeup mirror and dirty cobweb windows and terrace. The main restaurant was only open a couple of days and breakfast was a buffet zoo with hot food not being replaced within the hour we were there. The dinner we had at the casual restaurant was sub par. Wifi was non existent in our suite. Our beds were so old and had deep hollows. Cleaning was very limited with wine glasses and coffee tables not cleaned. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. This place needs a complete update. For $1100 a night you would expect more. We could have stayed at Chateau Elan for half the price had we known. Would not recommend. Lovely overnight stay

    rating01 Sept 2025

Had a lovely overnight stay and afternoon wine tour. The hotel has some amazing views. The staff are amazingly friendly and it’s so quiet at night sitting on the balcony watching the sun set was a real treat. We had a package with a half day tour with the 2 fat blokes and the value for money was excellent.
