    Not overly impressed

    rating18 Mar 2026

We stayed in 13 hotels during our tour of Australia. Here we stayed in room 118. Hotel the shape of a crocodile. Ground floor. Attractive reception with 3 galleries around it. Nice gardens. Shower in bath in good sized bathroom. Nice room with two beds AC and ceiling fan. Safe, small iron and fridge in room but no mirrors in room. Light room with window leading onto seating area. Dinner in restaurant was tasty but reasonably expensive. Breakfast was decent. One night stay. WiFi poorest of 6 hotels stayed in so far in this country. Unacceptably weak. Very friendly staff. Not overly impressed. Kyong Pang, General Manager at Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel, responded to this review Dear Terry,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay with us.We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed aspects of the property, including the gardens, room layout, and the friendliness of our team. It is also good to know that you found both dinner and breakfast to be enjoyable during your stay. However, I sincerely apologise that your overall experience did not fully meet expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the in-room amenities and layout, as well as your feedback on restaurant pricing. In particular, we are very sorry to hear about the WiFi performance during your stay. Distinctively designed with good service

Designed with a crocodile layout, the hotel has spacious rooms notably provided with a dehumidifier that markedly reduces dampness - a feature I wish many southeast Asian hotels adopted. There's an expansive dining area and bar, all attentively staffed. The onsite art gallery/gift shop is impressive in its quality. array and selection of native artworks. Your kind comments are greatly appreciated. It is wonderful to hear that you were impressed by the onsite art gallery and gift shop. I have always wanted to stay here and I was not disappointed. Yes it is aging, but it was comfortable and clean. The restaurant and bar were great. A small pool for the size of the hotel. Not even close to Mercure standards.

    rating01 Dec 2025

We just spent one night in this hotel as part of a road trip. The hotel is really dated, from the reception area to the room to the pool - everything shabby looking and feeling. The room was very big, though. Breakfast is only available until 09:30 in the morning and is pretty pricey - AUD35. It was ok for sleeping at night, but I would not stay a night longer. Definitely not Mercure standards, much lower. Kyong Pang, General Manager at Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel, responded to this review Dear Eugene,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear you found the room spacious, though we’re sorry that the dated appearance of some areas and the breakfast pricing did not meet your expectations. We understand how this impacted your overall impression, and we appreciate your honesty regarding the standards you experienced. Your comments have been shared with our team as we continue working on upgrades and improvements across the hotel. We hope the rest of your road trip was enjoyable, and we thank you again for providing valuable insight.Sincerely,CarinneMercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel
