    Unsafe, dirty and badly managed – very disappointing stay

    Location was perfect but sadly that’s it. We had travelled a long way, driving from interstate, for a special event on the next day. Parking our vehicle out front of the hotel room was an important consideration for us. The hotel is set back from the main road and has lots of handy amenities nearby or very short drive - for example La Porchetta restaurant was excellent, the car wash, service station, Maccas (taking kids there for breakfast was still cheaper than $15 pp for the advertised hotel buffet breakfast). The small shopping centre nearby had Woolies, pharmacy, bakery, cafe, beautician/ nail salon etc. It was perfect for last minute things needed. Electric cars can also be charged on the other side of main road.We paid over $650 (AUD) for two non-smoking rooms for a special family trip but unfortunately had a terrible experience. There were multiple issues that all happened in the same stay: • Police incident / safety concerns with neighbouring room • Noisy remediation work • Rodents in roof • Dirty linen and spa with missing fixtures, stained furniture & carpets. • Misleading photos (missing couch) • Early-morning TV turning itself on • Strong smell of old stale smoke in ‘non-smoking room’.We stayed at this same hotel around 3 years ago (different rooms) and had a great experience.Old hotels are fine if they are clean, safe and well managed. Unfortunately this stay was none of those things. Based on our experience, we would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.

    When my husband and I arrived in the afternoon to check in, the receptionist giggled and said that our room had been ready since 9:00 that morning which I thought was rather strange. I told her we had come from Horsham and she giggled again and repeated that the room had been ready since 9:00 that morning. We soon discovered why the room had been ready since 9:00am because it had been freshly painted. The receptionist obviously knew this which was why she was giggling. The room should not have been offered until it no longer stank of paint. The motel still has issues with the hot water service as well. I accidently set the fire alarm off by burning the toast and the manager came running and yelled at us. I also noticed a while ago that someone left a one star review on Google and the receptionist left a five star review in response to it. Thankfully it has finally been removed. My parents have moved to Melbourne and we would have stayed here often as they live close by, but I would rather travel further and stay elsewhere.

    Clean motel room with microwave, plates, bowls, cutlery and wine glasses. Coffee, tea and biscuits. Bed was comfortable and soap, shampoo etc provided. McDonalds just a short walk away and also a restaurant. Woolworths also nearby.
